And with that Sandra just became my favorite character in the verse.

It would be awesome if she goes, "You're taking away MY power switching?! WHYYYY?!"

Acting at its finest.

Looks like Sandra is going to have nerd rage instead of a nerdgasm because they changed her favorite video game character.

I say give 'em hell Sandra. :ymdevil:

I predict a lengthy philosophical and fan-centric discussion of re-imaging popular characters in games...

The antediluvian kings colonized the world
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from far Atlantis

Heh. VHD gets the points for calling this. It did look like a horrible probability once one started to think, though. Very possibly, Sandra blows this modelling job but ends up with a fanatic nerdcore following who agree with everything she's about to scream.

Shame, though. She was carrying the part very well until then.

Also, Tristan has a name (retconned into the older strip keywords, even).

(Also - will this tie up to Gary's presence in Paris? Will they prove to be the chairwoman and secretary of the international Keep Our Classic Carmen Chamellia Campaign, united in nerd rage?)

That's a possibility Spi but I'm still thinking Gary is in Paris for some kind of art gig.

I don't think Sandra's going to wreck the entire modeling thing here. Depending on Tristan's ability to think on his feet this could be a viral marketing sensation. I do suspect that the results of this event will give her name recognition with some serious risk of type-casting/modeling.

Huh, just noticed the lack of indicators they usually put in when characters are speaking French in this comic. Have the last two strips been entirely in English?

Also, yay! Tristan may hang around long enough to be a source of genuine fun.

Typical game comoany. Change everything the fans love about the game because you knmow better. Then wonder why the fans aren't buying it.

Not that I'm happy about that.
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

To illustrate the new game's cover, of course.

And, hah, Tristan is about to be berated by the "mascot"! :ymdevil:

Especially since her top's only held on by double-sticky tape. That stuff's not designed to withstand brawling...

I'm not sure that he'll be 100% cheerful at having the mascot exploding in a fit of nerd rage during the launch announcement. But hey, it's a comic, so who knows?

And then, one day, some smart blogger proves that Sandra's last on-stage explosive meltdown also proved good for the production she just "wrecked", and the Internet conspiracy theories rev up...

Survivable. If Rhona Mitra can move on from being known as Lara Croft...

Video game biz. Very international. Quite possible.

I think that the pattern is that often, tags only go on once a character has been named in the comic, but then they always appear and get retrofitted to old strips, regardless of how important the character is meant to be. So I don't deduce too much from this either way. Also, some characters develop more or less significance than originally intended as the plot gels in the writer's head.

Uh, chill there ol' son. Remember that it's not only just a game, it's just a non-existent game, in a comic.

Yeah, I'm wondering if that double-sided tape is Chekhov's Improvised Lingerie too...
