indeed, that a woman's body might have room inside for anything as unsightly as fat, or muscles, or organs is naught but an unpleasant imperfection, to be airbrushed away.

Marie: "I really need to talk to Alex, but..."
Eva: "Confidence lacking, dear?"
Marie: "Y-yes..."
Eva: "I'll send the twins right over, then. Do keep them out of the hospital, I need them for a shoot in the morning."

It's surprising that despite the stingy personality Adria/Adrie display through their looks, they've been surprisingly tame when it comes to being in the receiving end of Marie's 'confidence'.
EIther they really are all bark no bite, or their fear of Eva is far greater than their desire not to get slapped here and there by the rookie.
Probably both eh?
I liken them to Flotsam and Jestsam, Ursula's hench eels.
Fun fact Ursula was a super model too until her career was ruined and that's why she turned to witchcraft. ;)

*snrk* Okay, this page made me smile.
Confidence for one, a dearly needed lesson in manners for two. It could almost be win-win, if not for the creepy machinations behind the scenes.

Umm, “confidence” based on taking your frustrations out on other people, violently? “Manners” being “make sure that the person you insult can’t fight back”?
That was never going to be a real win for anyone.

There really needs to be a sound effect of "SLAP! WHAP!"between the last two panels.

I saw it more as confidence based on discovering you don't need to take the pretty people's crap if you don't want to. Manners being at least in part based on discovering people don't need to take your crap and you should keep a civil tongue.

So is this gonna result in Zoe and Eva standing next to a window and Marie must choose who to push to their doom?

I gotta say, SOTR is knocking it out of the park lately, especially compared to every other pt comic. This arc ("The Temptation of Marie"?) is great, and it's all about secondary characters. I particularly like Eva's deft manipulations...

Nor is it a fact, but wouldn't it be cool if it was?

I don't necessarily get how smacking people around will give you confidence to do a photo-shoot. Unless this is a metaphor for drugs, which is far too dark for this kind of comic. Just substitute "slapping people" with drugs and it makes total sense.
