Thank you for sharing Zippy. I've been reluctant to join Twitter since it can get ugly there, but perhaps it's time I leave behind the digital dark ages.

I recall arguing with a now banned member of the forum who was like a less restrained Angel. She accused Gisele of knowing nothing about people like Ramona and I argued that she was wrong because I trusted her experience within the community, but I never knew it was first hand until now.

More power to you Gisele and I eagerly await the return of Sticky Dilly Buns. :ymapplause:

Gisele and Brasca, I couldn't say it any better. :)

...now I just wish you-know-who weren't banned... just to see the look on her face. (So to speak.)

Am I allowed to smile. . .

I didn't know that about Giz. . .

And here Ramona's been my favorite character on SDB. . .

And I guess I'm stupid...but what does this have to do with LadyObvious23?

You may or may not remember Lady Obvious from this message board or the one at Penny & Aggie's, but she was banned from this one for attacking someone for perceived male privilege and then complaining about it at the bad day thread at the Tea Room. I reminded her why she was really banned and that if she could keep her hostility in check she could have contributed to the conversation on Ramona. Lady Obvious then proceeded to denounce the creative team for knowing nothing about intersex people as well as the usual accusations of transphobia which lead T Campbell to ban her from that message board.

In the great scheme of things it's not important, but I find self appointed defenders like her particularly obnoxious and it's ironic that she attacked the very people she claimed to defend.

Ah, okay. thank you.

Sometimes I forget details, and the whole incident kind of went over my head.

Overall, I've found the people on this team to be pretty good about these issues, at least from my rather odd perspective. And being intersex is very complex and the issues surrounding it can be very hard to unravel, but I don't remember anything in any of the strips which stands out as being a real red flag.

I'd actually thought she'd made those comments here, or I wouldn't have brought it up.

Though, now that we're in for a penny...
T Campbell wrote:The research involved here was a lot more personal than a Google search... personal enough that I can't go into more detail without violating the privacy of others, so that's all I can say about that.
...welp.

This strip http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-s ... ish_at_all is where it started. Ramona's use of the word hermaphrodite set Lady Obvious off in such a way that made Angel's reaction come off as calm and collected.

The conversation starts here: http://www.pennyandaggie.com/phpbb/view ... start=3000

This was months before Gisele's coming out, but after years of following her work I couldn't possibly think that she was being transphobic and argued such. Lady Obvious wouldn't listen, but then again she never did.

Thank you for the reminder. I was so in 'teacher mode' that I missed all of it. Had some interesting conversations about stories back then. :) I'm glad that Giselle could finally come out, though. Ramona is my favorite character in SDB for many reasons; though, and I just felt confused about all the hate since I grew up with many of the things I am being associated with aspects that do not cover me, and often using what some feel is outmoded speech. I've been following Ma3 et al now five years. You guys are a patient bunch, btw.

CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL! CAPITALIGHT MAKES RIGHT!

I'm highly amused she wrote to T, complaining she was banned on Ma3 for "no reason." It boggles the mind how anyone can be so disassociated form the real world.

Good times, talking to a brick wall.
LO reminded me of those people who believe they won a discussion obviously by the time they compare something/someone to Hitler.
