Well, I think I can claim to have called two different things in this strip... The relationship between Ramona and Angel was a blindingly obvious guess, but Ruby's reaction was... Just as predictable, really, but a nice piece of characterisation. The girl's surgically attached to that smartphone.

So, okay, Ramona forces a truce. Do we get any more of this meeting? Does Ruby reflect on the nature of sisterly relationships? Does anyone get Zii a new shirt? Or do we just jump to something completely different within a strip or two?

(Given that Jerzy never showed up in person, one can hope that he and Amber at least had that dinner.)

I'm betting that they're having sex with each other right now....or....they're in a threesome with Ray

Whichever would hurt Dillon the most...or at least cause him to throw the most overdramatic tantrum.

Welp someone definitely called that one. Also, I kind of life the expression shared between Dillon and Angel. It's almost like they're begrudgingly accepting it. Awwww!

I now wonder if Dillon or Zii have a sister too.

Well done to those who called the relationship between Angel and Ramona. I honestly didn't think it would go there.

Is Zii gone? Passed out? Perhaps on her way to her rehearsal space where a weirdo is trying to usurp her band and her life?

It would be really cool if things could work out so that the yaoi club brings in some coin and raises Dillon's profile for jobs. Ruby's resourceful and a go-getter. She and Lavali need their own comic!

Hmm, I notice that Angel refers to him/herself as Ramona's "sister" despite being in his malempersona right now.

Well there are some people who are overly protective of unrelated people they consider to be persecuted so it was not out of the realm of possibilities for Angel to be one of them. However, since it is now firmly established that they are sisters it does restore my esteem for Angel.

Ruby reflecting on this could have positive or negative results. The negative being that as shrill and tiresome as Angel may be he looks out for his sister. Even though Amber gave her a job and a place to stay these are only recent gifts bestowed upon her while Angel seems to have supported Ramona her whole life.

As for Zii I wouldn't worry about her much. Given the time of year this takes place she probably has a jacket to use for coverage.

Angel didn't likely grow up saying "I'm male!" until much time went by so she's likely used to calling herself Ramona's sister. Not to mention, "I'm her sibling," doesn't flow as well, and really if I heard someone say it that way, I'd wonder if they had some stick up their butt :p

Why? Ramona is Angel's sister regardless of gender.

Ramona is Angel/ie's either way yeah, but since Angel is still presenting as male you'd think they'd say either brother or sibling when referring to the "I'm her" statement or turn it around to "She's my sister" rather than the I statement

That part might tend to be a positive; Ramona and Angel are sisters who are mutually affectionate despite being, in their way, as different as Ruby and Amber. But then, Ruby doesn't need telling about family loyalty; in fact, she'd probably say that Amber exploited hers, for years. She doesn't feel affection for Amber because Amber doesn't give her any reason to, in her eyes.

The really positive model here would be Angel's determined (and quite Rubyishly nerdy) attempts to understand Ramona's situation, on a practical level. For Ramona and Angel, being sisters means being a part of each other's lives. But then, Ruby's problem with Amber is that Amber shut Ruby out of her life many years ago, and now doesn't seem to try very hard to understand anything... So no, Ramona and Angel aren't much of a model for Ruby. If anything, she may just get a little bit jealous of their closeness.

Yeah, history and habit are powerful things.
