That is obviously a possible danger, but I think that the whole point of this strip (well, one of its points) is that there's not much danger of that sort of thing. As we've seen before, Ruby is determined to be seen as professional and efficient - and she's a very organised sort of person. It would take a lot to distract her from performing as per contract. She has her pride.

Likewise, while she may insult Amber on her own time, that doesn't affect how she performs as Amber's PA. She's doing that job perfectly well here - to the point that Amber actually looks quite happy with the situation. She's just not going to let her feelings get in the way of doing what she is actually paid for.

(Well, okay, for all we know she might, at some later date. But that would be a specific escalation of her hostility, with some sort of trigger required.)

The bigger danger is probably still her driving Dillon (never mind Amber) up the wall in a fit of excessive efficiency. I can see her deciding that he needs to be a bit more organised in person. For his own good, naturally.

We might see some other cast members joining this thing (probably under pseudonyms); Zii and Dillon would be obvious candidates. I could certainly imagine her dropping into Pixietrix and asking to put an advertising poster up there. But the point about this exercise is that it's a commercial venture for her - and that means attracting lots of members, not just a few friends.

Also, this looks like, well, a bit of a fan-club-style operation. I can't help but imagine that the age of members will trend fairly low, somehow. Maybe we'll see Izzy guesting as a member, or Marie.

I somehow assumed that this would indeed be an online operation; much bigger potential customer base, no expense hiring meeting facilities, friendly to potential members who are embarrassed by their interests, very much in character for Ruby.

But I admit that this has never been stated for certain.

Anyway, I like that she does seem to have become more professional. I am actually getting kind of worried, everything seems to be going well for her. What will screw things up!? :O

I think that she always had very professional instincts. Her initial problem was that she was completely out of her depth in this company, and so she was usually flailing or panicking, and very often embarrassed. But she's adapted now, and even discovered that she's enjoying herself - which in turn has down wonders for her confidence. She may not be immune to embarrassment now, but it'd take a lot more to bring on the familiar blushing and stuttering Ruby. And so the businesslike Ruby that was always buried in there can come out to play.

But that doesn't mean that her problems are over. It may be harder to embarrass her now, but that confidence means that she's more likely to steer herelf into embarrassment. There's a pretty good chance that she'll either get herself into a confused, not-sure-what-comes-next situation with Andy, or decide exactly what comes next and then get caught in flagrante by Amber or her parents or someone. Most likely the former to begin with, actually; she's still using the yaoi to sublimate her sexual urges at present. Or she may let Rudy out of the box again, because she enjoys what he can do, only to get into difficulties there.

Plus, there is the little matter of her issues with Amber. That could alienate her from Dillon for a while. Or she might well try too hard to pair Dillon up with Julian; that's a car crash waiting to happen.

But I admit that this has never been stated for certain.

It makes sense to cast her net widely by seeking people with her interest online, but she could also be stepping out of her comfort zone and looking for like minded people in the Montreal area.

What would be really cool about finding people online is the potential for connecting with characters beyond the Pixie Trix universe.
