If Ruby held the job down for a year, that'd look good on her CV, let her build up some savings, and hopefully get the other two launched well enough that they could each employ someone with more experience - without her seeming to have got stuck in a rut. It would also cover a longer period than the entirety of Ma3 so far. So I think that this job could be a permanent feature from now to the end of the comic's existence.

There's plenty of potential stuff about it that could for good comedy without it actually falling apart (though it may come close from time to time). Ruby will be on set a lot of the time, so she may interact with other actors, crew members (wait for her giving Dillon's nature away to someone like Clara), and Nathan. Heck, she's cute enough that she may find herself having to fend off her full share of passes. She may also have to make excuses for her employers' lateness or screw-ups - exasperating when it's Dillon being a diva, seriously infuriating when it's about Amber's private life. She'll doubtless have to sort out two lots of tax information, including some implausible deductible expenses. And so on - though a lot of the time, the job may migrate to the back of the scene, just providing good excuses for Dillon, Amber, and Ruby to be around each other a lot while other stuff happens.

And if it does end, it might be because, say, Ruby's live-action yaoi project takes off...

Ok, someone needs to teach Dillon that you can hire a personal assistant as part time, and Ruby may have misunderstood that 30k salary may include multiple clients, not per client. Dillon needs to find someone to negotiate for him because he is obviously a true "himbo". Unfortunately for him the best person for the job is the very person he needs to be protected from.

However, the second-best person is the person with whom he'll be sharing the PA...

Bisexuality is clearly so common in the Ma3 universe that people take it for granted. A guy being spoken for by another guy is not only nothing remarkable, it doesn't mean that he wouldn't be interested in a girl in other circumstances.

Anyhow, like I said, the point about digging up the Clara incident is simply that it's a reminder that the film sets will be full of other minor characters with their own interests and agendas, and the film business is notoriously full of slightly flaky people. Ruby taking this PA job will give her lots of chances to interact with new and different people, which will be good for her (she's just getting the hang of making friends) and good for all sorts of plots. I wouldn't particularly expect to see Clara again, but the rule of conservation of minor characters makes it possible, and I guess she'd make an interesting contrast with Ruby - she's another young woman just starting out in a new career, and she seems nice enough, but she's more upfront about wanting a romantic life.
