There's probably a trope for "talks self into bad situation in a desperate attempt to evade a worse one".

Now, what are the odds that Dillon manages to delegate teaching duties to Ray, thereby causing Ruby to swoon in sheer bliss when she walks back through the door, scrambling Ray's feelings about his sexuality further, and eventually messing up Amber's new relationship as Ray sets out to explore his bisexual side?

And probably a related one regarding the character talked into said situation is guilty of doing the same and so the karmic payback is enjoyable.

I am SO loving the karmic payback here. :ymdevil: Yes Spidrift, I know there's no "karma" in the Ma3-verse, but this is close enough to make me smile.

Julian's dream was to have his first experience making out with his babysitter, and damn it, he pursued that dream like a lioness running down an antelope.

Dillon needs to teach Julian the Swirly go Round and watch as Julian becomes the gay version of Gary

That would require kissing Julian, which Dillon clearly does NOT want to do. He'd better get Julian out of the apartment before Ruby gets back, or they'll likely doubleteam him and his resistance will crumble faster than the proverbial Wall of Jericho.

It would seem my stab-in-the-dark (and hope you find something solid) reason for Julian's actions was not entirely wrong! Yay!
As in: he is indeed rather inexperienced, and possibly insecure about these things.

The statement "Learning how to [kiss] with you has been a dream of mine" definitely sounds rather odd, though.
It could be a "oh god, even thinking of having the first kiss with a guy I like is so stressful... What if I do it wrong? What if he doesn't like it? Why can't I first try it out with someone safe, someone I know well and who can teach me? Meh, as if..... .... ...Oh, wait; what about DILLON!!!" kind of thing. Still a very odd way of putting it, and of asking about it.

[nitpick]Do bear in mind that Jericho needed several circuits by a full brass band to get the hint. "House of cards in a hurricane" or something might be a better metaphor.[/nitpick]

But I'd still like to think that Ruby would eventually, with some reluctance, get the idea and try to help Dillon. She's been torn between her high-mindedness and her newly-awoken libido lately; her morality hasn't actually evaporated yet. Also, I think that it's logically more likely for Amber and Ray (who went out for a walk of unspecified duration) to get back first, rather than Ruby (who was sent somewhere distant) - and that could set up more interesting plot complexities than just "Dillon has even bigger problems".

Do bear in mind that Julian is indeed inexperienced, and is just 18, and has been pushed towards a career in sports, which maybe implies a conventional macho-oriented upbringing. The idea of him finding even a gay kiss a bit much to handle is quite consistent, really. And if Dillon is the only person in his past life who he now realises may well have been gay (and Dillon has severe difficulty fitting in any closet, let's face it), well, who else is he going to think of?

(The depictions of a perma-stubbled hunk blushing and blinking like Izzy are well done but a bit weird, I must say...)
