So Amber is not going to try to bag Gary at the gig because Dillon is going to be there? Disappointing but not surprising.
And I would to agree with you themacnut in that Dillon and Yuki are not so different in that they both live in their own little world.

Ruby's problem here is strictly short term. She's heard something that makes no sense to her, and her brain's gone into a bit of a loop while it adjusts to handle things. Plus, insofar as she can understand what she's just heard, it's annoying for her, and she's trying to work out what to do with her anger. She does need to learn how to channel that force more usefully.themacnut wrote:Speaking of problems accepting reality, it seems that Ruby is also having some issues with that.
The kid does like her categories simple - here, Dillon is gay, therefore he would never go out on a date with a woman (a logical conclusion with the added virtue of saving her from having to deal with "romantic" approaches from him). Hopefully she can adjust to a world where people occasionally do slightly strange things for their own peculiar reasons, and not let it get to her. Then she can work on how to take control of situations for herself while keeping the red mist at bay.
But it's all strictly minor stuff. Just a slight lack of flexibility. Compared to Mr Delusion there, she's really quite rational.

Seriously, why can't Zii say to Amber "Gary is not gay, not even bisexual, he's not into men so Dillon has no voice in this". Is it that hard? Geez...

Amber values friendship higher than sex. If Dillon has an interest in Gary, no matter how hopeless, pursuing Gary endangers their friendship. Therefore, she won't do so.LarsenSan wrote:Seriously, why can't Zii say to Amber "Gary is not gay, not even bisexual, he's not into men so Dillon has no voice in this". Is it that hard? Geez...
However, she's more logical than Dillon. In her mind, if Dillon has a boyfriend and a date, that nullifies his interest in Gary. We readers evidently understand Dillon better than she does.

I dream of Dillon being ganged on by the whole cast and told to cut the whining and the bitching and the hypocrisy and to just fuck off (kinda dream the same for Anita Blake too...)

She could say that, but Amber would point out that it's nonsensical. She doesn't refrain from seducing Gary out of some kind of ethical scruple. She refrains from seducing Gary because she wants to remain on good terms with her best friend and room mate. That Dillon has virtually no hope of ever getting with Gary has nothing to do with that.LarsenSan wrote:Seriously, why can't Zii say to Amber "Gary is not gay, not even bisexual, he's not into men so Dillon has no voice in this". Of course not. Wesley Crusher has nothing to do with thisHurbster wrote:Dillon's one of the worst Mary-Sue's in the history of literature ? Because that's what I think of when I hear Anita Blake.
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

how about a month stay in a hospital after Didi picks him up and tosses him over a cast iron spiked, barbed fence?? Would he dismiss that too?themacnut wrote:Dillon lives in his own version of reality, much like Yuki. Speaking of problems accepting reality, it seems that Ruby is also having some issues with that. Of course she's dealing with Dillon, so accepting reality is going to mean accepting Dillon's version of it. Since she's not savvy enough to treat him as the joke he is.

Yuki put Sonya in Gary's bed. She's got issues but seems to be taking the idea that he has sex with other people well. Long-term she may want monogamy (or only shared lovers if Zii rubs off on her) but reining in the sexual possessiveness has been an odd bit of growth on her part.Whisky-Tango-Foxtrot wrote:...*AND* speaking of Yuki: I wonder how she will react when she sees at least three (or more?) other girls going after her "boyfriend"?themacnut wrote:Dillon lives in his own version of reality, much like Yuki. P.S. The cast doesn't hate Dillon. Like -- at all. Many of the characters love him or care deeply for him or at least like him. So while YOU may hate the character (as you've said about a million times at this point), yeah, that fantasy isn't going to happen. Ruby is the only one who has showed any amount of annoyance at him lately, and even she cares about him.
Soooooooooo... Relax, sugar. It's not healthy to feel so strongly over something you willingly choose to read. Here, I'll share my Valium.

Not that the last panel isn't amusing but I'm kinda surprised how one panel of Dillion gets so much more commentary than three of Zii and Amber unwinding.
