Hit her power button, Dillon. Clearly she needs to reboot. Or just give her the three-fingered salute. :p

Ah, that last panel really makes it worth the chuckle.

I thought that Amber was being a little hopeful if she didn't realise that Dillon would likely be at the gig. So now, she's at least had it pointed out to her that she can't cut Dillon unlimited slack on the Gary issue. Though both she and Zii should realise that they're crediting Dillon with too much reasonableness. Still, the plot can roll forward.

Talking of which, SDB is currently a bit behind Ma3 on the timescale; it's still about planning for the event, presumably some time in the afternoon, while in Ma3, characters are dressing up or actually on the way to the venue. Given that SDB has fewer strips, Ma3 is going to have to spend a lot of frames on the preparations to manage some kind of synchronisation when the actually music starts. Well, it does have more characters to juggle. Hopefully we'll see some more of the intellectual double-team sometime.

Meanwhile, tidy-minded Ruby is having her categories messed about with again. She thought that there were at least some things that Dillon being gay kept her safe from...

Why do people in this comic verse have issues with telling Dillon to shut the fuck up and stop being a whiny little bitch?

:)) Ruby in that last panel is precious. She needs a reboot though before anything else can happen.

...as far as Dillon goes. :ymsigh: I'm tired of talking about his issues so I'll leave it at that.

Amber might not need to worry about Dillon though because she is going to compete with Didi and Peggy.

I suppose there is some benefit to being friends with him, but yes his infatuation with Gary is rather hypocritical if he's jealous about Jerzy's feeling for Angel or still hurt by Matt's actions. Maybe he doesn't consider himself in a committed relationship yet and feels excused from a sense of fairness.

I dunno. When was the last time he spoke of or thought of Gary ? Maybe everyone assume he didn't get over it yet while he actually did now. :-??

Man, this concert is gonna turn out like "The Bachelor!" All Gary needs now is a single rose! :))

Dillon kind of blew the "cool gay friend" image for me when, on the second day of him "helping" Ruby, he declared that he was going to find her a boyfriend - despite her protests. He'd done the "queer eye for the straight-laced girl" thing rather well the previous day, helping her with her wardrobe and building her confidence and so on, but then he just got bored with that and decided to do something that involved ogling cute guys instead.

He comes across as just too egotistical, even when he's seemingly being a good friend. Amber is cool with that because Amber runs her own life okay and just treats Dillon as entertainment, but anyone who takes his friendship at face value is doomed to disappointment.

Maybe. Would you bet money on that? Because I wouldn't.

If Dillon ever gets over his Gary obsession, it'll involve some big epiphanic revelation, not just a few weeks of comics time passing. Anything less dramatic would be insufficiently Dillon.

He still has Gary's picture by his bedside, with a naked picture of the guy conveniently tucked away behind it.

So yeah - not over him by a long shot.

If that were the case, he wouldn't care about Jerzy hanging out with Angel.

No, Dillon comes off as one of those folks who believes in double standards - it's okay if he flirts/tries to hook up with other men; but if his boyfriend does something similar, that guy is a jackass out to hurt sweet innocent Dilly-poo.

We''ve had Zii be the voice of the readers with her telling Amber to forget about Dillon's unrequited crush on Gary and pursue the man she wants - here's hoping we'll see something similar with someone making it clear to Dillon he has no rights to Gary, and that he's no better than his ex with his attempted two timing behind Jerzy's back.

Dillon's one of the worst Mary-Sue's in the history of literature ? Because that's what I think of when I hear Anita Blake.

Dillon lives in his own version of reality, much like Yuki. So telling him to shut the fuck up and man up will simply be dismissed as not part of his reality.

Speaking of problems accepting reality, it seems that Ruby is also having some issues with that. Of course she's dealing with Dillon, so accepting reality is going to mean accepting Dillon's version of it. Since she's not savvy enough to treat him as the joke he is.
