Dillon is idiotic enough to do anything, including that. Though he'll presumably not realise that Ruby heard that conversation through the wall (even though he enjoys listening to other people's vocal performances through other walls), so an attempt to return the loan could be relatively non-stupid - and he could then be puzzled when Ruby yelps and leaps ten feet backwards.
