Actually, she got off relatively lightly. There was no one around when she found out, so she wasn't shamed in front of anyone, and once she gets over the initial shock, well, at least she already knew about Andy's misunderstanding about her, so she should be able to work out why he thought that would be a suitable gift.

Anyhow, she continues to be a character I can sympathise with rather than wanting to yell at her for being an idiot. She thinks she's got problems, but she's trying to work them out for herself, and not just curling up into a ball (unlike the last confused virgin we knew in this comics universe), and now she's got over the initial confusion, she just regards gay men having sex in the same apartment as her as faintly embarrassing and confusing rather than something disgusting that she should judge.

I'm less impressed with Dillon and Jerzy here. They're trying to perpetuate Ruby's misunderstanding, plus they're borrowing her property to attach to their genitals. If she hadn't heard them through the walls, and she'd reclaimed the thing and then found out the truth later, she could have been traumatised and would certainly have been nauseated. That'd be unkind behaviour towards someone a lot less naive than Ruby.

And yes, the strip is roughly in synch with recent events in Ma3; Amber is out, doubtless visiting Zii.

I think that the writers have noticed that Ruby works better as a character if she isn't screamingly hysterical all the time. She had that moment of "I can get through this!" a while back, and if she isn't going to go crying back to her parents in short order, she has to be written with some kind of willpower.

She clearly finds new experiences a trial, but once she gets past that, she adapts

While she does adapt, I don't think that Ruby is quite up to talking about the mechanics of gay sex with anyone yet. That would mean admitting that she was listening to what they were yelling, and aside from the danger that the mental image would keep distracting her, virtually everything that the guys said would be too much information. I suspect that, at most, she'll mumble something about them being welcome to keep the thing.

Regardless, this could put a damper on her second date with Andy.

It might make Ruby even less happy with the situation, marginally, but she does already know about Andy's confusion between her and Amber. I don't see that it has to make things significantly worse for her.

To be fair to Amber, she seems to comprehend Ruby well enough that she'll understand the whole situation if it's explained to her, and say mostly the right things about it. She might even have the sense to apologise to Ruby that her old job has led to problems, again, in time to stop Ruby seething at her too much for that. She even seems to have enough loyalty as well as understanding that she might be annoyed at Andy.

I'd like to think that she'd tear Dillon off a strip for misappropriating Ruby's property to embarrassing effect. But of course, Dillon isn't subject to criticism by anyone else, so there's no chance of that. And I'm afraid that Amber may not be able to hide some amusement at the incident, at least until and unless Ruby explodes at her.

I took that phrase as a nice touch with Ruby's character evolution. She was shocked and traumatised a day or two ago, when she first discovered what Dillon and Jerzy got up to, and she was telling herself to disapprove a bare couple of hours ago. But now she accepts that, well, it's their business, and she does her best not to sound hostile, even if she isn't quite sure what to say to them about it. It's just inconsiderate of them to be loud about it.
