From her expression in panel 4, I'm guessing the former; she's scared, not frustrated. But then there's her expression in panel 2. And talking of expressions, I'm a little worried about Andy in panel 2; is that boy sure of his sexuality really?

By the way, that jacket really makes Ruby's ensemble there. Bare shoulders make her head look too big - it's the price she pays for being slim - but add the jacket and that dress actually works for her.

Now, how many strips will it take to sort out her current state of confusion? And will her attempted solution depend on the presence of Amber in the apartment?

I wouldn't trust Andy to get a glass of water right. Nice kid, brain of marshmallow. If Ruby says or suggests anything stupid in her state of panic, he'll probably end up grabbing the wrong end of the stick. I could imagine Ruby ending up having sex with him in a desperate attempt to avoid kissing him.

Incidentally, weaker downbeat possible ending to the chapter: Ruby gets away from Andy after giving him a clumsy or brief kiss that she clearly finds unsatisfying, then staggers into the apartment, takes a deep breath, and begins to call out to Amber, asking for advice. Then she finds the note.

(Bonus points if we then get a cut to Zii thanking Amber for her advice, and Amber saying something about not often being needed like that -- while Ruby lies awake, hearing weird noises from Dillon's room.)

I think her inner yaoi fan girl is wanting more. Still the task is ahead of her and she is going to have to face it. Going back to everything leading up to now Ruby is probably going to screw up something during the kiss attempt.

However another thought entered my mind. What if, she doesn't mess up? What if she just nails the perfect kiss on Andy leaving him wondering where all that passion came from. Afterward Ruby has no idea how she did it and runs away. She would be like Gohan form DBZ except with hidden sexual power instead of fighting ability.

Just a thought though more than likely she will mess up in a memorable way.

Also, just cause Andy is standing there smiling doesn't mean anything. Think of it as enjoying the view when two lesbians kiss, but no one has a hand down their pants

The funny thing is, she actually looks more grown-up there than she has for a few strips, in a very good way. It's the jacket again, apart from anything else.

Of course, it's perfectly possible that she wants more yaoi and she wants to stave off the scary moment. She may not quite know herself.

Probably. As I said previously, she may even botch it enough to put Andy's back out, allowing Gina to jump to all sorts of inaccurate conclusions. Come to think of it, we really want Gina back, and meeting Ruby; if Ruby is going to be embarrassed every other strip, at least Gina asking how Andy performed would add a twist or two.

That is possible. Sincerity can be a wonderful thing, and I can see Ruby taking a deep breath, applying common sense, and just, yeah, nailing it. (It's not like kissing is actually difficult.) Probably won't happen, though, and if it does, I can't see Andy ever having the sense to find it surprising or understand quite how lucky he was.

Possible nightmare scenario for Ruby. Andy thinks she's the best and wants to "go steady" - he may even use those words. Ruby, however, found Andy's goodnight kiss distinctly unsatisfying - Andy could well be the one to botch it - and really doesn't see them going anywhere, but she's too polite/nice/inexperienced to know how to say no.
I have no faith that Andy is any better at relationships than Ruby.
