If Dillon would just shout "Wrong roommate!", because it has to be clear to him exactly what illusion Andy is under by now, Andy could bail out, the night possibly saved, if Ruby is willing to finish a date with a guy who thought she was someone else.

I think that, if Ruby ever concludes that someone has come on a date with her because they thought she was Amber, she really might resort to violence, and would certainly end the date immediately. Pay attention to what really bugs Ruby; it's about Amber, pretty well every time.

Contrary to initial appearances, I don't think that Ruby is really nuts, or even over-sensitive. She's just got really serious issues with her sister.

Now watch as Ruby blushes and confesses she did some nude modelling during university when funds were tight!

With her capacity for embarrassment? Jeebus, no. She'd turn solid scarlet and curl up into a ball. Even if some lucky guy does, one day, eventually, get her into bed, I suspect that the comic's PG rating will be preserved the first few dozen times when Ruby insists on having the light out.

The logical conversation would be
" Huh ?What are you talking about ?"

Now three of the four current characters (all except Andy) have enough information to deduce approximately what went wrong here.

If they don't immediately begin to correct the situation and set Andy straight (bonus: find out who gave him the misinformation, and why), I'm going to have to go through the fourth wall, then go through the other fourth wall on the other side of the comic, and give the writers a collective bitch slap.

The problem may be less stupidity (though God knows there's no actual shortage of that sometimes in the comic) than confusion. Apart from anything else, Ruby might plausibly either explode, shut down in blue screen, or just say something correct but loud enough to embarrass her in front of the entire restaurant - and by the time that's sorted out, well, we might be in another place, with other concerns.

(Nitpick: Does Jerzy actually know about Amber's past career? Probably. No reason for Dillon not to have mentioned it. But if the writers wish to add a layer of confusion, that's an option.)

I don't know why but that line (in bold) had me laughing for a while.

I was just thinking that Andy has a rather pristine of what pornography really is, if 'people taking off their clothes for the camera' is the first thing that pops into his mind when considering it.

I imagine that's a combination of Andy being naive (I'd say "sweetly naive", but I can't find him sweet), Andy being polite ("take off your clothes for the camera" sounds nicer than "screw strangers for the camera", even if it's an obnoxious question to ask on a first date either way), and these comics' maybe slightly unrealistic view of the porn business generally.

Yeah, "So how did you get involved in your career?" would have been a way better question. It would also have opened several comedic doors as Ruby talks about her major in college and Andy hears everything she's saying through a porno prism.

Porno prisms should be a thing. I'd buy one.

Unfortunately, Andy tried to show he has taken an interest in Ruby, and so goes direct for the career he mistakenly believes she has, rather than just asking what she does for a living.
