Oh my! I knew this was going to happen, but I figured it would be drawn out several weeks before Andy stumbled into this.

I might yet be surprised. While I can see overreactions putting an end to this double date it's possible (slightly) that there could be a second date.

Well, at least the misunderstanding gag won't be dragged out indefinitely.

And Ruby's reactions here will be interesting to track. Pissed off to begin with, obviously - but does she just punch him through a wall and storm out, or does she identify the problem, explain the facts in words of one syllable, and then just get annoyed with the source of the problem as she sees it? Because when she first appeared, a lot of us thought she had a general hair-trigger temper, but since then, she's only been really ratty and acerbic with Amber. In other words, it looks like she's a fairly decent human being with really, really big (and understandable) issues with her sister. And if she works out that this latest horrible embarrassment is due to her being mistaken for Amber, that's not going to help sisterly relations.

Actually, I wonder if the next strip will cut to Ruby getting home at the end of the evening, Amber saying something innocuous, and Ruby letting her have it, verbally, with both barrels. Sorting out the consequences of this faux pas will involve more talkiness then the comic usually engages in, so we might get just the aftermath.

I knew this would happen, buy I didn't expect it to happen now and this way ! Well done writers, well done !

The logical conversation would be
" Huh ?What are you talking about ?"
"You're not a porn star ? X told me..."
Cue infuriated Ruby. :p

Well, It won't happen this way, but IRL...

The interesting thing isn't whether Ruby is infuriated - of course she will be; it's who she's infuriated at.

Incidentally, one notes that Andy assumes that porn stars enjoy getting naked for the camera. Which may be true in the Ma3 universe, but, well, I wouldn't assume it if I met one in reality.

...and then Ruby chuckles a bit and says "No, that's my sister. Until recently *I* worked in an office." like a reasonable and non-insane human being. Right? ...no? *sigh*

PS: please forgive me for forgetting what Ruby did when she was employed.

She's apparently fresh out of university and doesn't have a job yet. There's been no mention of pre-university employment or anything.

Which actually means that Dillon at least should have picked up on Andy's comment in panel 3. "I'm curious about her work" is an odd thing to say about someone who's unemployed; even if it means "I'm curious what she does for a living", it would probably be tactful to say "she's still looking" - some people in that situation get a bit touchy or embarrassed on the point. But Dillon's an distractable idiot, so whatever.

And while Ruby may respond a little more violently than a real, rational human being, a lot of real people would be at least a little annoyed at being mistaken for a porn star, even if they could guess how the mistake happened. Anyway, Ruby is easily embarrassed; any anger she displays here could well just be covering that. Though like I said, I wouldn't be too surprised if she lets Andy off with a frosty correction, then rips into Amber for creating a situation where crap like this can happen.

No, this is the disaster where the guy tries to fly solo, accidentally fires all his missiles, and fires the ejection seat without the canopy being blown clear.

It's definitely going to be Andy and his hand. Not only for tonight, but for the rest of the decade.

If he retains use of his fingers... No, that's unfair to Ruby. Probably.

By the way, is it just me, or is this comic turning into the Ruby and Jerzy show? Ruby is the character whose problems and situation are driving the plot, and Jerzy is the likeable hero type with the brains and initiative to play the proactive problem-solver. Not that I'm complaining, but it's amusing to see the two initial protagonists turning into secondary characters.
