Good to see that Erik has himself a new band to manage.

I know, Angel's female. Quite the bombshell. Just went back and checked all the other pages with Angel in it, and nowhere is it said by Jerzy or Angel that Angel is male, Dillon was the only one to call Angel a he.

Not quite. The bombshell is the return of Erik. Angel has always been a "he."

Then why is Angel entering the women's bathroom? Or am I not understanding your use of "he"?

Angel turning out to be a woman (maybe???!) is more shocking than Erik showing up. (Also who else wants to bet Angel's band goes against Zii's and more drama!Exes)

1. Angel is a boy. He's a band called Pretty Boys with Electric Toys. Jerzy is gay.

2. He probably went to the girl's bathroom to mess with our heads.

3. He's a rock star, he does what he pleases.

4. Thank the Yaoi Gods it was not Matt.

Jerzy was bi before he was gay. It would also explain why he tells Dillion that there is "Nothing between me and Angel" anymore, and that it was "One time. A long time ago." That one time with Angel was when he still considered himself bi. As for the band name argument, you can name a band anything.

That would be a fantastic twist/surprise. (I'm now rooting for that).

Though I wouldn't be surprised if Angel is just popping into the ladies room for easier access to the facilities/avoiding having to hear/smell what the frantic dude is about to drop.

Oh perhaps Angel is Transgender like Senna is but has the female anatomy down there instead of the male anatomy like Senna. Maybe Angel has to pee but can't use the male urinal for that reason.

As for Erik I think he just made the jump to SDB rather than this being a crossover. But I think there will be a Ma3/SDB crossover when Zii's band plays either before or after Angel's band plays at the same venue.

Exactly! Also, just because Angel never corrected anyone's use of male pronouns (and looking back on the comics, only Dillon and the pet store boy have called Angel "Mister" and "he") does not mean Angel is male/male-identified or uses those pronouns. Angel could be transgender (pre-transition possibly), gender-queer, or a drag king.

Being in a band named after pretty boys, not correcting/minding the use of male pronouns, being comfortable going into a women's bathroom, and clearly being a yaoi fan, I think it's a safe bet that Angel is a drag king.

Trans men can and should use the men's room. There are other fixtures in a men's bathroom besides urinals which can be used for the purpose you've described, and there are tools which trans men can use in order to use urinals. It is possible that Angel is a trans guy and for whatever reason is uncomfortable using the men's room, but it's more likely that Angel identifies female.

(I still say best bet is drag king.... I just hope that Gisele doesn't go the cliche big reveal route where someone walks in on someone changing and is shocked to see breasts. lol)

No matter how I read it, thus strips makes no sense to me.

Or maybe Angel came to the conclusion that there is no room left in the men's bathroom ?

How come none of us guessed the panel 1 reveal? It makes perfect sense in retrospect, and sets up some nice plots - the setting can now have two rival named bands, with lots of soap opera thrown in to flavour the rivalry.

I must admit that my first interpretation of panel 4 was simply that Angel was distractedly and absent-mindedly blundering through the wrong door. But that would be a weak joke - there are no named characters in that women's toilet to be annoyed at him - so some of the guesses on this thread now look plausible to me. I reckon that Mr. Bee and sweetlemon have probably got it right.

Creeping cynicism is kicking in now I pause to think about this strip... After today's big reveals, what follows? Are they actually that big at all, really?

Okay, so Erik has found a new band on the rebound from managing Zii. That's potentially fairly big in Ménage a 3. It's an extra twist in the soap opera of Zii's life, probably. But it has no immediate impact even there, and it's absolutely meaningless in terms of Sticky Dilly Buns. We'd never even seen Erik before in this comic. To me, it looks less like a big reveal than a cameo crossover.

And let's assume that Angel is indeed some kind of drag king, which sounds plausible to me. Okay, so? We already knew that Jerzy has a bisexual past; he said so. Angel is still just a mischievous/stalker-ish ex for Jerzy, who can show up occasionally to harass Jerzy and annoy Dillon. In fact, given that Jerzy now claims to be entirely gay rather than bi, this makes Angel less of an effective threat and more sad and deluded.

So hopefully we get back to the Ruby/Andy shennanigans soon, which is about sympathetic, imperfect people trying to get the hang of the world.
