Like National Geographic, Ruby has issues.
I find myself liking her a great deal though, her faults only make me laugh - sometimes in recognition.
Is it wrong that I want Ruby to find herself, and become a simple heterosexual girl who's just more accepting of others than she was.

Kate is channeling her inner Ruby there, we see.
Umm, no. It's not wrong at all.
The problem is, that isn't Ruby's plot function at all. She's stuck with being a confused virgin prude with raging hormones. Until the writers get bored with that joke - which could take years - she's not going to be allowed to get comfortable.

I don't know about that. Comedies often benefit from having an Only Sane Woman figure with a bit of a talent for snark. A Ruby who understood herself a bit better, and who was relaxed enough to make her criticisms of Dillon and Amber constructive, could be a useful supporting character for this comic. Amber needs telling that her problems are her own damn fault, and she needs to consider the likely consequences before she acts; Dillon needs telling to stop being such a campy jerk, it's not big and it's not clever. They wouldn't listen, but it'd be nice for the audience to have that sort of representation in-story.
Which is not to say that Ruby would have to be a plaster saint. Even if she decides that she might be interested in relationships with guys, up to and including sex when the time is right, she'll still know that she's hopelessly inexperienced and clueless - and the only people she can ask for advice are a gay male ditz and a recovering sex addict ex-porn star. Plenty of comedy there, without Ruby having to be humiliated every time she leaves the house.
The problem - the reason that this isn't going to happen - is that these comics don't really do snark very much. (Jung, the resident snarker on Ma3, disappeared for two years when there was plenty he could be snarky about; he's now returned, and made some fairly blunt comments about Yuki's violence while ignoring Sonya's attention-seeking. Which is nice, but not exactly Oscar Wilde.) And without a little effective snarkiness, a less broken Ruby probably would be a bit boring.

Re: 17-12-13 Overly friendly
By the way, what are the odds that Ruby blunders into an eminently misunderstandable scene in that men's room? Apart from anything else, it occurs to me that, while Dillon may be distracted by the thought of rippling man-flesh, Jerzy has half a brain; he may have taken the opportunity to ask Andy what the hell he meant by his gift to Ruby. If Ruby peeks round the door to discover, say, Jerzy and Dillon pinning a worried-looking Andy to the wall while getting in his face... She could end up rescuing him or something.

There is such a thing as being too responsible, and Ruby is proving it.
