Hey, Dillon. Remember tall, dark, and handsome back at the apartments? You are not supposed to be on the make here.

Shopping montage coming up.

Ruby succumbed to the inevitable somewhat faster than I'd have expected there, but I guess that a two-times-a-week gag strip can't afford to hang around on the plot too much.

Note to Ruby: Of course he'd do that for you. I'm not saying that he's being insincere, or that he'll do a bad job (though you may have to watch out for him trying to get you into Alexis Carrington shoulder-pads), but you've just offered him a whole new set of options for playing dress-up.

Note to Dillon: Congratulations in getting all the drag parts, sweetie, but you may have to watch out for overly-wacky typecasting there. Apart from anything else, do you really want to be stuck in drag when you start to lose those youthful looks? You'll end up as a raddled old queen if you're not careful. Sweetie.

i disagree, both stripping and gagging may in fact become quite integral to the plot in the near future.
Yet still, I live...

No! *spritzes Dillion with water* Bad Dillion! You know damn well this is going to lead to Ruby going to her next job interview with a banana. Choose your visual aides more carefully. :))

Wait a minute... What kind of job are you thinking of, Dillon ? :|
I knew the skirt was virtually doomed after the last strip. My interest is if Ruby will go for pants or stay with skirts/dresses. Not sure of waht it would mean, though.

Isn't this the first time we see a true smile from Ruby ? It makes her look like suspiciously like Gary.

The semantics are kind of fiddly. I suspect that for a back-office job which was all about Ruby's intellectual skills, a well-chosen trouser suit would be fine and might even be the best choice (especially in the Canadian climate). But Ruby isn't used to wearing trousers, and Dillon has a camp gay man's sense of female style, so I reckon she'll end up in a knee-length charcoal grey pencil skirt or similar.

The dangerous bit is if he tries to shoe-horn her into heels. From what we've glimpsed, I doubt that she's had any practise wearing such things, and if Dillon's fixations go there, she could end up wobbling around like an idiot, or wasting time learning the skill.

Nervous bespectacled nerd. There's only so many ways they can look.

Though even aside from desperate laugh/grins, we've seen her smile (less nervously) at least once before (frame 1).

He said; it's for a part. That could be a euphemism for "being nice to Nathan", but why should it be? He and Amber have got what they want from Nathan, in writing. Meanwhile, we know that Dillon has been a success in at least one drag part (Black Canary), and now he's claiming to have repeated the trick at least once.

Like I said, this actually leaves him looking in danger of being typecast in somewhat freakshow-esque roles, but that's the risk he runs.

Ah, Don, you've triggered an ancient memory there! There was a surreal show on British TV in the mid-1960s called "Do Not Adjust Your Set". I think the best way to describe it would be Python-style humour for teenagers. One of the stock characters was Captain Fantastic, a super-hero whose costume consisted of a gabardine mac and bowler hat, played by a very young David Jason. His communication with HQ was via a banana-phone that he always ate afterwards.

I loved the show and remember it fondly but t came as quite a shock when I Googled the show to discover I was around 15-16 when it was on! :-o

Hopefully he'll get something more business appropriate. Poor girl has been duped already by someone she respected. While I think Dillon has the ability to dress for the part he has a tendency to go over the top which could leave Ruby more confused.
