Re: 25-02-13 That was uncalled for
Granted, I may be giving Nathan's position too much credit. Most of that is based on the fact that he could, on demand, afford the expense of a condo in exchange for one fetish threesome. That may have been poor judgement and living beyond his means, Amber's social barrage did seem to catch him off guard.
If Ruby is a fixture I just want her as more than 'Amber's Younger Sister', and given that the comic title focuses on Dillion keeping the two at a remove seems unlikely.

Non-related, but what is so awful on starring a movie made for TV?

Re: 25-02-13 That was uncalled for
actually what was "put down" was the "direct to video" movies, that does not have even the confidence of products that would pay to have ads during their time slot

Ok, let me rephrase the question. Why a direct to video movie would be better than a made for TV movie?
At least, in my point of view, I can see the theater release as a major milestone, but video and TV are comparativelly the same. Or is just something cultural about hollywood and such?

Direct to Disk/Video means something is considered to be so bad that it's going to be buried. The studios don't see it as worth much more than schlock that fans of a series might buy, but not many others. Made-for-TV is a lot better in that those actually have to go to a network, they have to be good enough to get advertisers, and so forth.

direct to DVD = no guarantees of sales, and maybe a matter of weeks before it goes from 20 bucks to 4.50 bucks sale price, and in one year, can be bought for 1 buck
made for TV = guaranteed revenue of commercial slots sale
of course some things have changed
years ago, in order for a TV series to go into DVD and syndication it had to go 3 seasons
now many Series "seasons" go on sale less than 3 months after the end of the season, even the first season

Prude, eh? A woman doesn't have to be a prude to not want to be molested in the night by her pornstar sister's male roommate. She might be, but one doesn't necessarily imply the other.

I think it's the gown drawing the suspicion of prudishness, the 'pervy man hands' thing is just an indirect insult towards Amber.

In other words, she'll fit right in with the rest of the 'cast'.Spidrift wrote:Ruby, a woman who dresses more substantially in bed than when out and about in Montreal in September. Okay, that's confused at some level. Several levels.

It's not the not wanting to be molested; it's the automatically assuming that Dillon is a "perv". Not asking Amber how he's likely to behave; not even saying "well, so long as he's not some kind of perv" (though that would look quite uptight enough); simply assuming that Dillon has "pervy hands". That's just rude to someone who she hasn't even met, so far as she's aware, and either an insult to men in general or a harsh dig at Amber's taste in friends.thebitterfig wrote:Prude, eh? I kind of hope it's the latter, really; we already know that Ruby has issues with Amber, but if she's basically hostile to all men on principle, she's going to be a very negative character, and she's going to have trouble getting that job.

I don't think Gary could handle her, not as she's been shown so far. She's too abrasive and irascible, and possibly misandrist as well ("pervy man-hands"). Unless she's yet another woman who finds Gary irresistibly cute at first sight (which could create another point of rivalry with Amber) he'll never get any kind of chance to Swirly her.zaprzapb wrote:Please let this happen in a crossover arc if only to see the O-face on Ruby and the look on Amber's face when she finds out.blue zone wrote:I patiently await Gary somehow accidently giving lil' sis a lil' swirly action. Appetite tends to run in the family, and Ruby Unleashed could be entertaining across the Ma3 Universe.
EDIT: Not that Gary's really "handled" any of the women he's been with so far - more like they've "handled" him. So that's what it'd take with Ruby as well, she'd have to decide that getting with Gary is a goal worth pursuing.
And I can see the creators killing any possibility of that in advance by having Ruby take one look at Gary (or his picture) and going "Ewww, so nerdy-looking! (irony for the win!) What could anybody possibly see in him?"
