Let's just say ... that you may not be the only person round here who could say that.Ophelianime wrote:Nothing personal taken. In fact, I totally aggree with your analysis. It wasn't until I got to college that I realized all my "opinions," were just a regurgitated soup of what I heard from people I respected.
How Ruby got through a complete university degree course without having some of the rough edges smoother off is, I suspect, a puzzle of this comic that we can never actually expect to see explained.
Probably, if only to give her a plot - but she's lasted this long...Ophelianime wrote:And as for Ruby being stuck in that mindset, I think that's due to her never stepping out of her comfort box. Which is sure to happen now that she's living with Dillion and Amber.
One question would be why she never ventured out of that box, even a little. Most people seem inclined to at least take a peek at the big wide world when they get the chance. Which comes back, I'd assume, to the party/porn video incident; she was traumatised so badly that she pulled down the emotional shutters for her entire teens.
That must be a bit limiting. But then, I come from a large family, most of whom are adults with partners these days. One just has to cultivate a certain personal failure to think about some things, to get through family gatherings.Ophelianime wrote:Although to be fair, I'm uncommfortable with the idea of being in the same house as two people having sex, much less the same room.
