He'll be tasered, stun-gunned or pepper-sprayed so thoroughly that by the time Amber responds to his howls of pain (and terror!) she'll find him huddled in a corner of his bedroom in the fetal position crying for mercy (or lying in a twitching heap if tasered/stun-gunned) with Ruby standing over him going "That's what you GET for trying to make a VICTIM outta ME, your rapist PERVERT!!" and then Amber will have to intervene quickly to save Dillon's very life.
You know, I really, really shouldn't find that such a hugely appealing idea. I shouldn't be dreaming of seeing this on Monday. With a few rounds of Yuki-style follow-through from Ruby next Friday, before Amber can stop her.

I certainly shouldn't be finding the idea faintly erotic.
vampire hunter D wrote:Of course not. Otherwise you've got a lot of explaining to do to fit Yuki into this.
We don't actually know Yuki's feelings about yaoi, really. I mean, it'd have to be non-explicit, obviously, but she does find the male form otherwise quite appealing...
BioYuGi wrote:I still say it's ruder of Amber's mom to not wait for a reply to her, and seriously, why not call her, wouldn't that be easier? Especially for something this important. Makes me think that the mom might have not even bothered to e-mail her.
Oh, knowing mothers, I'm pretty sure she did send the e-mail. She just took the fact and nature of a response for granted.

Look, it's rude of Amber not to read her damn e-mails. It was rude of her mother to take her for granted and ignore Ruby's warnings. It was foolish of Ruby to assume that things would be okay, and to fail to press her warnings hard enough. There are no heroes here, and no winners.

(Except possibly, in the latter case, their mother, who's got Ruby off her hands.)

In other news, I found Sticky Dilly Buns being discussed in a rather unexpected place.

(They stop around 3:00 or so. It's always interesting to see how outsiders view the series)

Maybe Ruby will come across a certain voice recorder that's tucked under Dillon's pillow. :ymdevil:

Honestly, don't you think she's suffered enough?

I dunno. Maybe SDB will be the "torture Ruby" comic. Some people seem to want that.

Well Ma3 is pretty much the "torture Gary" comic and SDB needs a buttmonkey so I nominate Ruby.

Umm, (a) No it isn't, there are lots of other things happening, and (b) Gary is just a twit who gets a little bit humiliated, mostly by his own social incompetence. What people seem to want to do to Ruby would be more akin to repeatedly subjecting Yuki to the sight of naked penises.

Anyway, like I implied a few posts back, there's one character in this comic who I'd much rather see tortured, if this comic is going to be torture porn.

I was kidding about the voice recorder thing but it does seem that Ruby is becoming the butt of most of the jokes in the comic so far.

Ruby's quickly going from amusingly naive to obnoxiously prudish.

I also liked the claim that clearly, Dangerously Chloé is just Giz drawing under another name!

I think that this comic may be one notch less comedy (maybe three notches less sex comedy) and one notch more melodrama than Ma3. Ruby seems to be a fairly seriously screwed-up character, and while some of her craziness is still played for laughs, she's also unintentionally making of Amber's life the same sort of hell that Amber unintentionally made of hers. She's a bit like Yuki, but with less slapstick violence and more soap opera hysteria.

In other words, while there'll doubtless be some Ruby jokes,if I'm right, you shouldn't expect her to be amusing all the time. And arguably, it's not Ruby who'll be suffering most because of her problems, it's Amber. Ruby has achieved a kind of equilibrium at this point; Amber is the one who's looking stressed out.

Bloody annoying is what Ruby is.

'Check your emails' ? Use a TELEPHONE and like talk to her in person, maybe ? Mobile number ? Text message ? But no, Amber is rude because she forgot to check one of the many ways she can be contacted in todays world. lol.

Well Ruby is a fan of Three's Company so she shouldn't be too horrified when she meets Jack Tripper which the gods of plot convenience shall arrange shortly. Of course the big difference is Dillon isn't pretending to be gay so he can live in an apartment with 2 girls.

Seriously. Family or no, I'd drop kick Ruby to the curb with some choice words about using Amber as a stand in for all the screwed up choices in her own life.
