I imagine that Dillon assumes that he can become a competent cricket-wrangler by method acting. He really isn't omnicompetent, you know; he can be a bit of an idiot at times.
As to Ruby - she's staid and old-fashioned in many ways, and possibly squeamish, but she's not girly. Or at least, she doesn't want to be. She might be disgusted by bugs, but mice? Nah, I really hope not. If she was that pathetic and silly, I'd probably give up on the strip. There's no way at all that a social loner like her could get through a full degree course if she was all silly-little-me, eek-a-mouse. She's got to have a bit of self-reliance.

Ah, so it won't be just the crickets getting loose then. It'll be half the other animals running/flying free, with fish flopping around on the floor in front of broken/overturned aquariums, plus the pet store will somehow catch on fire. A rather small scale disaster, but a disaster nonetheless.zaprzapb wrote:Or maybe he's thinking "what could possibly go wrong?"'J' wrote:i imagine he's just thinking 'how tough could it be?'

As I said before, we shouldn't expect a mass cricket escape - yet alone an even larger small animal escape - in a comic where an artist also writes the script. A horde of escaping crickets would be a total bore to draw. Don't expect Giz to inflict that on herself.

What if she used computer graphics?Spidrift wrote:As I said before, we shouldn't expect a mass cricket escape - yet alone an even larger small animal escape - in a comic where an artist also writes the script.
