Of course Ruby's messed up. Like most Ma3/SDB characters, she's stuck in a teenage frame of mind. It's just that with her, it's a 13-year-old girl's "boys, yuck!" attitude. And she's sublimating any libido into ambition. Other women may compromise, but she has her priorities clear.
It's not logical, but it's hardly that weird.

Sometimes (mainly people who just spend ages sorting out quotes in their posts) posters post stuff that is just too long to read. And massive quote-fests are quite hard to read as well.

Bonding: Nothing is impossible. In this case, these two have one thing in common; their parents. It's not much, but it's a start. They've just got to build from there.
And I do speak from experience. My siblings and I didn't have much in common, although we certainly didn't have problems on this scale. We'll never be very close. But after enough years, you get to see that you're in the same boat, and these aren't bad people really. It's a loose bond, but it's a bond.
As to Amber's attractiveness - hey, decent figure, evidence of a passionate nature, plus the usual crucial question with a redhead ("How far do those freckles extend?") And she'd be a challenge. She's not really my type, to be honest, but a guy could do worse.

I think ruby just doesn't wanna be like Amber at all, Amber had sex then went into porn. So ruby is staying chaste to try to avoid anything close to like like she said, because she may be more like Amber then she wants to admit.
