Music videos for Get a Roomie

Post by hcobb »

How about doing a video using images from the comic to the song "Wide Awake"?

Blondie - Heart of Glass seems like it would be a necessary part of the soundtrack, if not the key part. Or maybe I'm just distracted by some kind of heartbreaking feelings and reading too much into certain moments of the story.

I'm afraid I don't have any ideas what an original music video would look like, but on the other hand I could bore you with a top 50 list of songs the comic brings to mind if anyone's interested.
Well, in the order they spring to mind then:

Peter Gabriel - Book of Love (much more emotional than Magnetic Fields' original)
Blackmore's Night - Greensleeves
Blackmore's NIght - Anicent Sojourn
Amanda Palmer - The Bed Song
Ludvig van - Ode to Joy
Alison Krauss - When you Say Nothing at All
Tori Amos - Total Eclipse of the Heart (speaking of improved covers)
Janis Joplin - The Promise
Lous Armstrong - Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen
Journey - Don't Stop Believing (I ain't afraid of no schmaltz)
God is an Astronaut - Age of the Fifth Sun
Spin Doctors - Two Princes(ses)
Justice - Stress (That's a joke actually)
Nobuo Uematso - The Awakening
Neil Diamond - Girl, you'll be a Woman Soon
Heart - Crazy on you (Specifically this video)
Joan baez - Diamonds and Rust
Rammstein - Sonne
Joan Osborne - One of Us
Metallica - Mama Said (Okay, that one may be just because my mom died the other week)
Metallica - Outlaw Torn
Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin (Maybe I should learn the words to songs before I do these things)
The Doors - Break on Through
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird (For dark purposes)
The Beatles - Let it Be
Divine - Walk like a Man
Sting - Every Breath you Take
Kim Wilde - Kids in America (They are in America, right?)
John Lennon - Imagine
The Doors - Hello I Love you
The Jam - Liza Radley
Kansas - Dust in the Wind
The Knife - Heartbeats
George Harrison - Got my Mind Set on you
Kiss - Crazy Nights
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Joy Division - Love Will Tear us Apart
Bon Jovi - Shot Through the Heart
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride (A cheap shot I admit)
The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love With Someone you Shouldn've
U2 - One
Phil Ochs - I Ain't Marching Anymore
Alphaville - Forever Young
Scott McKenzie - San Francisco
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Ari Koivunen - Stormwind
Bill Withers - Ain't no Sunshine
Byrds - Turn Turn Turn
Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like you
Green Day - Good Riddance
Simon and Garfunkel - Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
Scorpions - Send me an Angel
The Proclaimers - 500 miles

50songs? Sure, go ahead, would be fun to see if any of the songs on your list would make sense for the rest of us :)
