What is it about Jill? Somehow, she has the power to shove the Prince of Dorkness back into his cage, just by being there. It's handy as all get-out, but what is it that she does... or is it something she just is?

Mina Harker didn't have any great power to stop Dracula. She was instrumental in his defeat, but that was because Van Helsing was able to use the link Dracula forged between them for information-gathering purposes. Though I suppose she should get props for managing to fight off the full transformation as long as she did...

I seem to recall Mina did have some calming influence over Dracula, if only because she reminded him (was a reincarnation?) of his lost love and he did not want her to see him as a beast. That may or may not follow here of course.

Wasn't that just the movie version? I have a copy of Dracula in my bookcase, but I haven't read it yet... My only memories of the book are from high school, and that version was abridged. ^^;

As it's been 24 years since I've read the book I can claim no clear memories of what went with what and where. That may very well have been the movie only and I am remembering wrongly.
