Of course, she was dumped into unlife without a word of warning, she hasn't had Vampire 101 (nice going Katie/Leonard, at least leave her a note why don't you?), so she might have drained more blood than was safe from someone before she realised the danger, particularly if she was blood starved after her awakening. But that wouldn't be her fault. It would be Leonard and Katie's fault. Shame on them!

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. If Lorna killed people -either in a feeding frenzy or by mere accident, or even because she felt that as a vampire she could do whatever she wished -people will freak out and try to put her down.

Really tho, it's just as likely that this is yet another Leonardesque, Kane inspired, 'let's murder the Cryptids for the very wicked crime of being different' routine. But even if not, it would be a case for the courts, not a bloodthirsty mob of pyromaniacs.

Of course it matters. Vigilante murderers attacking people is always very bad news (and such mobs have often proven willing to attack and murder or enslave cryptids just because they exist), but if the police hope to get to the bottom of any crimes that may have occured, things like guilt and culpability will be rather vital.

The only evidence of violence displayed to date is being perpertrated against all and sundry by the mob. Oh and do tell, what reason is there to believe that vampires can gain any nutritional benefit from drinking animal blood?

Depends on the breed of vampire really.

Lori's breed, the 'hominus nocturna' or simply the 'nocturna', require human blood though. Other species blood will either sicken them, weaken them, or worst of all... turn them human (the Gorgon Sisters). Fortunately the nocturna don't have to match blood types when drinking human blood, or they would have died out a long time ago.
