I'm pretty firmly in the camp that thinks bad things should happen to both Heather and the other VCs, especially Lori, but I'd already feel a little better about the parent situation if I knew that nobody fed on Heather's mom while she was pregnant. And if the situation had continued even after the birth, would he/she eventually just become another slave/blood bag for Heather & co.? But IIRC we don't know either way, so...

Honestly, what the vampires did to those two sickened me from the get-go. I never saw any indication that they deserved that kind of mistreatment.

I saw two parents who were angry because their daughter was out past her curfew. It's a dangerous world out there. I did not see them mistreating her to the degree that they deserved to be milked and bred like cattle. (For 'milked', read 'bled'.)

This 2-part story takes place after the "Vampire Cheerleaders Get Rescued" (i.e. after book 3), but before the start of the current story arc (Vampire Cheerleaders in Space...and Time?!).

See, this is obviously the immediate pretext, but what is the reason?

It's dangerous to breathe. If you are modestly insinuating that they were worried because they cared for her, come on, there's no visible reasons to assume this - it stretches the interpretation too far. They didn't even say they are concerned for her safety or something. It's "what is the meaning of this" and rhen "all about ME!!!" (half-hiding behind her fig leaf of a spouse) Neither were they even slightly relieved to see she's not alone - exactly opposite.
Also, other than cheerleading, Heather was referred to as a "church girl" grey mouse. Did it ever look like any of it was her thing or like she was simply bullied into this?
Now, e.g. here we see parents who began to act in a highly annoying way because they worry too much for their wittle cwute dauwter walking outside, slightly past the point where they were about to call someone.
Do you notice any differences?
So... is this another "possession Sue" thing, or what? Like that circus when someone was droning "Nononono! Stephanie is not a heartless slaver looking only at her purse!!!1one! It cannot be and thus it is not! She does not just use blathering about Candice's dead boyfriend as an excuse to do anything she wants, but actually investigates it with summoned invisible unicorns, even if this never was shown on screen and we know what actually happened!" despite everything being eye-bleedingly obvious, and right until the authors made her plainly spell it out herself - remember that one?

Gotta love these forums... Most of the space&time arc topics have single-digit reply counts and basically zero discussion, but as soon as this strip provides an excuse to pile hatred on the VC's?? The post count instantly triples.

Well I would say it has more to do with Heather seeing as she is quite a controversial subject in the the forums since there is quite the divide on her, her parents, and the actions she took in the early arcs. It also doesn't help that Adam in the attempt to make the cheerleaders more likable( in my opinion) altered the way in which she was made into a vampire from unwilling to willing which caused even more base breaking within the forums especially since that fact would have been better used at the ending of arc one instead of near the end of arc 3. Not to mention the unmentioned mind wiping powers that casued even more plot holes when you think about it.

This arc I would say is good it just doesn't have the impact that the previous arc had although I do feel that Adam should have fleshed things out better in that arc such as Steph figuring out the blood was vampire blood and not random cryptid blood instead of the bonus story with Aoi house which was nice but feels a little unneeded. This might be why the forum count might be low.

The problem is that Paying Evil unto Evil is only karmic up to a point. And that point is when the abusers are no longer people being justifiably punished and instead have become the victims to an even worse abuser.
Repeatedly or even permantently taking away someones free will is just wrong. And all evidence seems to imply that the enthralling they put her parents through was periodic instead of a one and done deal. Not to mention the very likely scenario that if the VC didn't get outed by Steph and Co, Heathers Parents would have stayed enthralled for the rest of their lives.

Considering the way that they treated her, or how it's implied they treated her, before she got turned I really can't blame her.

She was just trying to secure her freedom from those who would control her utterly.

All she did was turn the tables so that she was now the one in control there.

I support her actions fully and think she did the right thing too.

Of course I may be a little biased since I like Heather and I would date Heather if I got the chance, if she were real that is yeah and such.
