I wonder...was Zoe really to say "since high school". or was she going to say something else, like "since you were killed by that fiendish troll when you were just 28 years old". 
If Leonard and the others really have been out since HS, that means that this timeline will become void if they ever manage to go back to their own time.
Anyways...if Leonard really has been "out" since HS, how come Zoe didn't remember that? She has known Leonard only while in High School. To her, he's literally "that friend from high school".

In this timeline she has never met him after high school because he was sent to the far future by a Mothman egg. Of course, if Leonard manages to go back in time to his origin point, this timeline will become void, history will change, and in the new timeline Leonard will meet them many times after high school.
