Plus side: She has killed Empress B*tch and hurt her Side B*tches, avenging Simon and Garfunkel.
Down side: This is probably how the Gorgons started to hate vampires. And we are probably never going to learn why the Gorgons did this, since it is going to be all running and fighting from here and until they jump to a new time period.

Considering Lori snapped the other ones neck that race just might have weak necks. Either way since her life was pretty much centered on food its fitting to die by a plate.
Crackpot theory: What if the gorgons want to steal the throne? The seers predicted that the visitors would kill the Empress if provoked, so they brought them, invited them to dinner, and grossly provoked them so they would attack. The Empress is dead, the throne is empty, and the gorgon's hands remain squeaky clean.
