Over extended battles are way too common anyway and the move they played was something she didn't expect (mid air with hostage while powerless), they tend to be one sided and I doubt that's the last we've seen of the corpse rider.

Not sure why would you assume that I preferred to see something like that instead. I never said anything about replacing it with an "over extended battle" that's commonly used in most action scenes.

Technically, they weren't written that way...well, short that is. The fight scenes are compressed largely because we had to fit a 106 page script into 91 pages of art for PMS story 1... which meant a lot of the extra humor and extra action bits were condensed down.

For PMS story 2, the script was actually a little shorter (89 pages), but even with 100 pages of art... the final battle could've easily gone on for another good 10 pages or so because I wrote sooooo much shit getting destroyed. But I think Ian picked a good balance in what to focus on in the pages allotted.
