Lose 40 pounds to be an acceptable and healthy weight.
That's it.

Re: Resolutions!
I have no resolutions per se...
But this year, I aim to get a bit fitter (I've started pumping weights two weeks ago, and wow, it's showing!! ), lose weight again (in 2004, I was down to 220 pounds...) and of course finally get my PhD, one year late.
Everything else is too dependent upon other people.

Hm, losing weight and exercising more seems to be high on everyone's list. Maybe we can form a support group. ;)

Sketchy activities? Tell us more! And I agree, you need to party harder. Just ask pepperkitty for advice. ;)cyanide_sweet wrote:3) Try and change my partying habits (drinking, doing rather sketchy activities, etc.)

Re: Resolutions!
I always start my New Year's Resolutions early... so that if I stutter slightly and slip, I don't get down on myself so much. I look at it not as "oh, darn, I broke it - might as well give up" but as a gradual direction of growth. Many of mine aren't that unusual.
1 - Working out more (I used to be REALLY buff, trying to get back to that).
2 - Lose a little weight... I've a little bit around the middle I'm not happy with.
3 - Take a chance on something every day. I've gotten into a bit of a rut, only doing things that are mellow and somewhat boring. I've got to take chances again, and hopefully good things will come of it.

Re: Resolutions!
Why not make a thread so that we can post our weight loss weekly? I'm doing that on my comp already, anyway, and a good deal of the adults on my Myspace (I know them all IRL) are doing that through blogs, too.

Re: Resolutions!
New years Resolutions:
1) Save monies. I'm pretty sure I'll have a long-term visitor at the end of this year (just in time to distract me from my Masters research) and I want to be able to look after them and treat them while they are here.
2) Continue to go to the gym at least once a week, but two or three times if possible. I don't want to lose weight as such, but I do want to get more toned and fit. I spent almost a year bedridden, and I never quite got my fitness back after that. I plan to be as fit as I was by the end of high school again. I'm happy to post my progress up here, but it will be in terms of what I did, not what I lost. I don't weigh myself, since I consider it to be an unhealthy practice in and of itself.
3) Maintain both my relationships and my quite high grades. I suspect this will be the hardest one to do. Both partners are very distracting in their own special ways. And I can't use either of them as research subjects (neither of them are bisexual women as far as I know).
4) Listen to more music.
5) Continue to be happy and do things that make me happy every day.
