Count me in on this as well... thank you, Bear. Thank you for everything that you've done for the forum. :)

Their first assignments should be sorting out the contests and updating the Roll of Honor thread...

Why was the PM storage capacity increased so dramatically? Isn't that sort of, you know, kind of bad for the database? I mean, it's more costly to host when you're holding in more data like that. Or am I somehow lacking in phpBB knowledge? (Says the woman converting her current forum to phpBB with her fellow administrator's help.)

*nods* From a purely technical perspective, yes.. bumping it up to 300 PMs can be very hard on the database as far as I know.

Honestly, I've never had more than 20 or so I think.. but there is the export function if you really want to keep PM's that bad... we might want to reconsider 300 PM's per person for the health and speeds of the boards.

And there lacks a character discussion thread in the Eerie Cuties section. Wouldn't hurt to add one, and it wouldn't hurt to comb out some of the dead threads in the Graveyard. A grocer shouldn't keep expired milk, as a forum with a limited database shouldn't hoard unnecessary threads.

There's one missing from Holly's section, but she can handle her own shit.

Personally, I'm strongly against deleting anything.

Not to mention I can't imagine the forum stresses any kind of capacity limits strongly. This is a very small community. BAUTforum of which I am irregualrely part of has a capacity of 5000 PMs for every forumite, and a charta of never deleting anything (which isn't spam or hateful, I mean - just dated) no matter how old.

The PM capacity was increased by Giz after I had complained I was always filling up the 100 extremely quickly. I had not asked for 300, that was her choice.

Actually, I would like to second that one. Although I'm not always in PM conversation, when I am I regularly have to purge old messages.
Further affiant sayeth not.

We are currently discussing how to best clean up the GD forum and its threads. We also discussed the Contest(s), which is why the voting is now up. We haven't talked too much about the Roll of Honor yet, but it's on the list.

Uh. I have an idea for badges. But it's dumb and it involves pictures of me holding stuff up.

T'ain't no .gif or .TIFF, but hey, a picture of a woman! (Or so I claim.)

But this is probably the drinking talking, not me. Or maybe me. Let's say both, but not.

I get myself into so much trouble when I drink.

Paul with over 2400 posts, yeah, you kinda are. :p
You definitely are. :)
Nope...I'd have to win a contest first. I'm not participating in any more contests, because I might win. Winning would ruin my reputation as a Hermit...and an outsider. :ymsmug:

Sorry guy, but winning a contest has never had anything to do with it. You're stuck. :p

I believe the requirement for being an Elder was, at one point (it might have changed since?) simply being a regular, having 200+ posts. Paul, I think you're overqualified. *nods*

And 100 to be let into the Cave... :P

Actually, I think we've made more exceptions than anything recently, but then, we've only gotten a few new Cave-Dwellers in the last year... :(
