It isn't thread necromancy, this hasn't been archived.
I just recently got a sci-fi space battles wargame (tabletop, hex grid) called Starmada. It's by Majestic Twelve Games. (They also have sci-fi and fantasy land battles games.) Starmada is actually rather good. It's a naval skirmish scale, so you'll probably have like 4-8 ships on your side (not counting fighters). It handles a diversity of sci-fi stuff, allowing you to heavily customize the rules. (In particular, it can also support naval battles by changing the movement rules, as well as battles through the "luminiferous ether", which might also be good for handling zepplins and fighters, but I haven't delved that deeply.) Also, Amarillo Design Bureau has published three Star Fleet Universe books for Starmada.
I'm of a mind to start doing Lensman writeups, or maybe Mahou Galaxy vessels. I'm also now interested in their sci-fi land battles games - Quantum Legion and Wardogs. Apparently, Quantum Legion handles things on a closer-to-strategic level, while Wardogs is more tactical (and has some focus on mecha).
Further affiant sayeth not.
