I feel like I'm the hardest working person in my office next to my supervisor, in terms of the content team. The other three people I work with are lazy, spend all day making jokes or surfing the web, and get as little work as possible done. My supervisor is friends with all of them, so they don't care, but if I slack off a little they give me shit.

To top it all off, I'm severely underpaid, a good $10k less than the average for the industry; $14k less for someone with my experience and skill set.

The stress is so bad that I literally woke up every 2 hours last night due to stress-induced dreams.

My love live is 50% okay, but that other 50% drives me mad.

My only saving solace is my web comic, but that won't get off the ground for another few months (one chapter complete is not good enough, imho).

I feel a little better.

Edit: Oh and I'm poor. And I just broke my phone out of anger.

I retract my "feeling better" statement.

At my old job there was a sign: "This office is full of perfectly willing people. Half of them are perfectly willing to do the work, and the other half are perfectly willing to let them do it."

Fun fact: it is the opposite of fun to watch your car burning. Y'all may've known that already though.

More "freaking tired" than cranky. I have an uncle who is disabled and very afraid of driving- has been almost all his life. Most of the time, if he has an appointment somewhere I'm the one taking him. It's not too big of a bother unless it's his doctor which is where I had to take him today. The wait times at that place have been up to three hours, so there's usually a bit of dread when I have to take him there. Today it was only an hour and a half, so not too bad. Then I ask if there's anywhere else he needed to go and he gave TWO different food places to pick up lunch for him and my grandmother. Both places are not fast food places. I don't know how long it took in the first one but the last was easily 30 minutes. :| It would not be inaccurate to say that most of my morning has been spent waiting for one thing or another. It's boring and it's tiring. I may take a nap.

:ymhug: I have a cousin who is the same way. She refuses to drive. She also refuses to take public transportation despite not being afraid of social situations. This means one of us (usually my aunt, but sometimes me or my mother) have to drive her where ever she has to go. What's worse is she refuses to get help for any of her problems.

I was the same way regarding cars, but at least got my driver's license. My mother still has to come with me on long drives, but I can get around town pretty well.

He'll take the public transit sometimes but he doesn't live anywhere near a stop for it and he can call to have them pick him up but apparently you have to call something like two days in advance. He's on the spectrum so he gets really anxious when talking on the phone. Telling my mom while she's over there is just a lot easier for him than talking to a stranger on the phone.

:ymhug: Then it sounds like he's in a bad situation one way or the other. I'm glad you can help him even though I know it's not easy. I understand about the phones and driving. It wasn't until I was 29 I finally got my driver's license because I couldn't keep everything in order and the anxiety of driving made it hard for me to drive.

I can't put this on Facebook since my family's on there and I can't quite get it into words for twitter so here it goes.

There was a Deaf man shot by OKC police. I think it's understandable that I'm upset about it. It's been one of my worse fears for years. I am constantly trying to think of what to say or do if I would ever be in that sort of situation. I told my parents about the article while we ate tonight and my dad thinks the guy should have been able to read the visual cues that they wanted him to stop. Raised guns and all that. It's a good point but it didn't sound right to me. I couldn't remember if it happened during daylight (it didn't), so I couldn't object. We couldn't talk about it more because a guy next to us decided to jump in on the conversation (which also bothered me) but man, you would think with a daughter who's been HoH most her life, he'd be more worried about the victim.

And it's probably petty but it seems like every time I think we're gonna be on the same side of anything, he proves me wrong. There is very little we agree on and it's.. frustrating. It's a big let down a lot of times. There's nothing I can do about it and I know that but I just needed to get it off my chest.

HUGS. Yira, I understand. And from what I've read and understand about the incident, which isn't much of course, people were trying to get the police to realize the man was deaf and the police ignored him.

And sometimes if someone is deep in thought or not paying attention to their surroundings (Situational Awareness seems higher among women then men as a generality [but not necessarily for everyone]) then without the noise to hear the incident occurring, he might not have known it was going on at all.

Your father was being an ass.

He's a security guard and loves watching shows like Cops and LivePD so it's not too surprising that he's on their side.

:( sounds like he wanted to be a cop and couldn't. :(

I sat through several law enforcement classes, and the professor who taught the class made something clear- a single bad cop (one who shot without thinking, acted like he was more powerful than anyone else) made the entire department look corrupt and awful especially if they tried to cover up the wrong actions, and in so doing put the lives of other cops at risk.

I think it's more that he likes the idea of it but wants none of the possibility of getting killed. I remember asking him about being a cop before and he didn't seem too fond of the idea. That might have changed since becoming a security guard. He's only been one for a few years and I haven't asked him about it.
