IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE....

Post by MarkMoriquendi »

There's a D&D Thread, so why not a Warhammer 40k one

After being a member of Warseer for some considerable time, I figure we should start off the discussion by saying a little about the armies we play.

PRIMARY ARMY
SECONDARY ARMY

What do you think the coolest looking mini is
What do you think the worst idea in 40k is

Do you convert your own minis?

What does your force command look like?

Here's my responses:

PRIMARY ARMY: Dark Eldar
SECONDARY ARMY: Tyranids

What do you think the coolest looking mini is: I like DE's Drazhar
What do you think the worst idea in 40k is: Sisters Repentia

Do you convert your own minis?
I will do

What does your force command look like?
I don't have a pic as I haven't made him yet, but I will draw him when I get the chance

Actually, in the archives there is an old 40k thread =) We talked briefly and then it got quiet =) I'm registered at Warseer, but spend more of my time at 40k Online. (Which used to be EldarOnline...hence why I am there.)

I play Eldar... and Eldar...

I have been known to do mild conversions... but I have so much painting and assembling of regular stuff to do...

I actually miss the old Rogue Trade and 2nd Edition days... Vortex grenades please...

My command varies based on the situation and battle...

I've played Warhammer 40K a grand total of once in my life.

My army consisted of Orks and Robots. My favorite of which was a Bomb-bot containing a Vortex Grenade. It's basic tactic was to move as close to an enemy as possible, then blow up.

I got my head handed to me, but hand fun anyway.

No! That would be absurd! My whims are titanic in scope!

I used to love the Dark Angels (still od actually)
summat about Space Marines in robes, but nowhere near as pious as Black Templars

LONG BEFORE the new command squads and plastic minis came out, I converted myself a command squad, consisting of a robed chapter master, robed techmarine, robed apothecary, and the Dark Angels Veteran metals.... I was quite pleased with that (do you know how long it took me to properly cut the reductor off an old metal apothecary? lol)

still, nowhere as cool as slave-capturing pirate space-elves, or all-consuming space-bugs!

I haven't played in years, but I do have a heap-ton of Space Orks and more than a few Imperial Guard kicking around.

Now that I've read Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse, I'm tempted to create a massively huge Tyranid swarm, complete with Trygon, Hierodule, and Hierophant!

a trygon is a large, tunnelling Ravener, a hierodule is a large Termagant, and a Hierophant is a large Spidery Bio Titan

Dark Eldar don't use Titans.... They're a raiding strike force. They have nightwings and void dragon phoenix raiders
