Jane got spayed yesterday. I was so worried. But, while she is hiding, she has come out, eaten, and is recovering well :)

I'm glad she seems to be doing well! Surgeries of any kind are tough :( Did you handle it ok? Cause they're tough on mamas too.

EDIT: Got to thinking about it and I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to say I went to El Paso today to meet a new audiologist. I adored the one I had in Albuquerque but that's a FIVE HOUR drive compared to two and a half to El Paso. It got to where we would spend the night any time we were in Albuquerque because driving all that way for a short visit like that seemed ridiculous.

I liked her. Kind of made me wonder if my previous one was doing as good of a job as I thought? Like my word comprehension from last year was 50% and by the third year she said most people average around 70 or 80. My hearing range from low to high sounds was also very narrow which might have something to do with it. I don't know how much of that any audiologist has control over though. Especially since she tried to raise it and I had to have her take it down some cause I was getting that feeling in the facial nerves that you can get when things are too loud. The range was widened and my comprehension jumped to 60% so a 10% increase in a year is probably a good thing. I guess I'll see if the new range makes a difference or not. I also got a few resources from her that my other audiologist didn't have. So over all, it was a good trip.

good to know your pet is recovering art. We often worry about the dogs we have to get surgery for at the hospital but they seem to know we're trying to help them.

**

A lot of people don't truly understand the concept behind hearing issues. They think of it in a straight forward manner like turning a volume dial up and down when its a bit more involved and complex than that. It's good you've found help closer to home.

Thanks :-) We were really worried because her brother didn't do well with getting neutered, but he had all his shots at the same time (which is standard practice here), but they made an exception for Jane once we explained that her brother had problems and we thought it was the vaccines. She got her shots on Monday and is pretty much fully recovered. She's also a very good girl in that she isn't chewing at her sutures. I was so scared. the last time I had to go through a cat getting fixed in any manner was twenty years ago.

And you're right Tenjen when it comes to audio issues. I don't have any major audio issues, but I have a lot of sensory issues and that includes some audio issues where depending on the background noise, I can't make out what people are saying. And it isn't necessarily the noise being loud that does it. I leave the captions on my TV so I can read them in case of an issue.

I'm glad you found someone closer to you, Yira, and who seems more competent when it comes to the issues.

So... this is where my life is going right now. 8-|

All right. Two weeks ago, I had gotten a phone call from a Public Storage company telling me that within 24 hours I'd have someone phoning me for an over the phone interview. Well... they never called, and when i tried to call the fellow who called me, I got an answering machine. Which bugged me, because this was a full time job and I wouldn't deal with too many members of the public. Mostly babysitting property.

Then, earlier this week I pressed a former co-worker who works for a chain of privately owned convenience stores and using her name as a reference I got hired! Now, it's part time, but it was offering pay at a hirer rate than the public storage place. And, it's convenience store work, so you're dealing with people all the time. Retail work is part of what burned me out before, but... a job is a job. In fact, just yesterday I went in and filled out the official paperwork.

... wouldn't you know that this morning the public storage place finally called me back for the interview? :ymsigh: I swear, my life. I had to tell them that I'd already accepted a position elsewhere, even though that's more the sort of place I'd have preferred to work... simply because I pushed a former co-worker (and ex-drinking budding) to get me in with this other job. Ugh. Still, I'm definitely employed again (finally) after nearly 2 years unemployed. So, that's good news. It's just silly how these things go about.

:) I'm glad you now got employment!

I'm seeing an alergist next month. This year has been horrible when it comes to allergies.

I'm still at the library volunteering twice a week :) I love libraries.

DnE: ...omg Life, stop doing that. Let the guy have something good. I hope the job you DID get doesn't burn you out. :ymhug:

Artie: I hope you can get some allergy relief soon!

Today was busy for me. My cousin's middle child had a birthday party today. They live in a town that's aboutr 67miles away so my parents and I drove together. Four hours of five screaming kids and a crying baby later, we decided to head to the casino that's in the next town over. None of us won anything and I didn't get to play a Wonder Woman TV show themed slot machine :(

Despite how it sounds, it wasn't a bad day. I got to see my cousin for the first time in probably a month and she gave me my birthday present since she missed the father's day/birthday party we had at my parents' house last week. I got to meet some of her midde child's friends and hold the baby even if he kept crying and no one could figure out why. I also got revenge on my mom for smooshing a cupcake in my face on my actual birthday so that was nice. It was just a small amount of icing on her cheek and not a full cake smoosh like she had done me because I'm nice like that. O:-)

Related, today I learned that red icing can stain. I had not known that.

My battered laptop decided to quit charging today. I leave it on the coffee table most of the time so I have repeatedly tripped over the cord and caused it to crash, charging port side, on the ground. To be honest, I'm surprised the port lasted as long as it has. So now all I have is an old Win 8 nextbook and my phone.

To be honest, I ain't even that mad. It was definitely my fault and I had already been in saving mode for a freaking $300 Bluetooth phone clip accessory for my cochlear implant. I'm more annoyed that I can find laptops a little cheaper than the clip and puzzled at what the hell made me treat this laptop so much rougher than any of my previous ones. I know it wasn't on purpose. Just... a hell of a lot more clumsy. Why? I have no idea.

Really glad I was saving up,though. It'll probably take a good two or three months at the LEAST to save up this kind of money again :ymsigh:

Fairly good day actually. Most of my coworkers were gone, making it pretty quiet. I managed to deal with a couple of things that needed attention ASAP with my own stuff. Found out the payment for my car will leave me with about $1700 to make up on it, which, not really that unexpected. Also found out that my new car insurance rate, following NC insurance regulations will cost me quite a bit more due to an accident 2 years ago. Like, my only vehicle claims (other than spontaneous combustion) have been like a decade apart, but it is what it is. I have a home insurance thing to figure out, since I apparently got a notice thanking me for renewing my homeowner's insurance, which is for a house I don't own that was paid for by escrow which no longer exists. And I need to call an investigator with the National Highway Traffic Safety administration that left me a voicemail earlier. So, even more things that need doing, but some of it has gotten done, so, yay.

At least you made a dent in what you have piled up. Here's hoping you can get more done tomorrow :)

Excellent on all counts! :-bd

Edit: I have family from out of state visiting. Nearly every day, there's been something going on even if it's just dinner at the grandparents. I got invited to hang out with them today and I decided to clean instead. Mostly because it's my normal cleaning day but also because I need a break. Especially since we're going to dinner at a popular restaurant tonight. It's been nice to see my aunt and cousin but I'm still an introvert and an uncle from a different state than my aunt and cousin is going to be here late tonight. Which means tomorrow there will be a total of up to 15 people under one roof (16 if it's one of those rare instances that my cousin's husband isn't working), three of them under the age of 10.

Pray for my grandparents, guys, they have to host this.

Oh shit, my uncle's oldest and her two kids could end up coming too since they aren't that far away. Help.
