Seen these kind of threads on other forums, and they can be great for inspiration when you don't know what to make for dinner, so I'll start with tonight's uninspired soup:
Potatoes
Carrots
Leek
Vegetable broth
Parsley
edit: and green peas
edit 2: and garlic!

So, what did you have/will you have for dinner tonight?

As it's way past dinner time, and is now tea time, I'll assume you mean tea, not dinner.

And I dunno yet - I haven't much in. So i'll have to investigate. I had a very nice chicken satay for tea last night though

Barbecue riblet sandwiches. My mother promised.

And, to Phoenix... what exactly is “dinner,” for an Englishman? How is it different from “tea”?

Yes, it’s that way in the United States, as well. I’m asking what it’s called in England, since I’m curious.

In the north of England, your evening meal is called your tea. Therefore it is teatime. (Perhaps answers why Americans misunderstand and think we English drink tea all the time?). Lunch is from 11:30-2pm, and is colloquially called dinnertime.

Down south, they do it the American way. Or, to be precise, you do it the southern English way.

Yea I didn't know that actually, I guess the English we learn in school in Sweden is americanized.

Unsurprising! But yeah, the north generally dislikes the south, and everything is more expensive down there, too. Which is why we hate when events (like NFL @ Wembley) are London-based. Costs a bomb to get there, you HAVE to stay overnight, cos it's so far, and it costs an arm and a leg to do that, plus tickets, plus food down there (3 times more expensive than up here). All in all...bad times!

So there you go - Tea is what you Americans, and it seems, Europeans also, call "dinner", and dinner is what I call lunch.

Here:

Breakfast: Morning
Dinner: Early afternoon
Tea: Evening
Supper (hardly ever used): A pre-bedtime snack.

I only eat one per day, also, unless I'm training.
