Disney is just recently starting to tell stories about positive female role models and you're surprised that there's no positive LGBT characters?
Beauty and the Beast is a terrible idea for a children's movie to begin with. It and Sleeping Beauty are satires of the French aristocracy. The subtext is that French nobles felt free to kidnap any attractive peasant women they encountered. Also, the "beast" is a shot at the effects of inbreeding among nobility.
Finally, it perpetuates the myth that a good woman can "fix" a bad man with her love. Because the spousal abuse statistics aren't high enough already.

What really did it for me was him basically saying "I don't pretend to understand everything about it but there has to be a better answer to the situation than THAT."

I live in such a small town, I highly doubt there is such a thing here.

He did not get my vote either.
The voting ends about an hour after posting this (21:00 Dutch time), and then comes the wait for the results. While I am extremely confident that Wilders won't get into a position of power, I still have to hope he won't get the most votes, cause it'll just give the tosser more things to cry about.
