BTW...just to point out that Mel Brooks married Anne Bancroft, the love of his life, in 1962. She passed away in 2005. Twelve years later, he's still alive and kicking.

So, they announced the new Doctor who will be played by Jodi Whittaker. The only reply I've given any credence to was from her alum Colin Baker who tweeted out "Change, and not a moment too soon." They were his very first lines as the Doctor back when he took over the role from Peter Davison.
And as sci-fi gets a little more crowded, it also seems to be getting a bit hollower too.

I like the idea.
The Doctor has been taking on so much despair in his most recent incarnations, so much sorrow at moving on, becoming someone new again and again, leaving people behind....
It's like a full, fresh start. Something wholly new for the character -- and also an acknowledgment of Missy's efforts to become someone new and better.

Deborah Watling, who played Victoria Waterfield as Companion to the Second Doctor, and Trevor Baxter, who played Professor George Litefoot during the 4th Doctor Era, both passed away. Obviously both had extensive carriers outside of Doctor Who.
