Radbaron, some of these necro-thread revivals don't always take. But that doesn't stop some of us elder forumites from revisiting them from time to time. ;)

After posting about my voice in the other thread, it reminded me a bit of how I enjoy to sing. And how that now there are sites like vocaroo, I don't need to set up my digital camera to record a video like before. (Which is good, because that thing broke ages ago.) Just a little snippet of song here, inspired because on Tumblr I saw a young lady playing a piano and singing the opening verses of "Strong In the Real Way" from Steven Universe. My recording is less than a minute long, but I really enjoy all the little changes of this song's structure.

Me singing!

Considering his prolific career (and how I learned quite a lot of my singing ability by listening and singing along to 70's singer-songwriters like him and James Taylor), I will take that as a definite compliment. :D It's kind of a shame, because of the throat injury that I had when I was 19 that changed my vocal range forces me to sing much higher to get a good tone... so I often sing better to songs that have been made for female artists, just in a lower octave. Too many male artists have these parts in their songs where they suddenly sing very low for one phrase and when I do it I can really hear how 'off' it sounds.

My nose is a bit stuffed up, but I thought I'd still record something since I do like to sing and all that. Here's the first verse of the ancient 80's song Telephone by ELO. I think it says something about me that out of such a happy fun pop group my favorite song by them is such a melancholy theme, and has been since I was a child.
