it gets way better, the explosive declarations and over the top never goes away (infact, the series pretty much escalates to impossible levels) but meaning and depth does come.

If you've seen the first episode, imagine the escalation curve that ends with the enemy throwing galaxies like shuriken at the very end. That said, it is when it's at it's most outrageous that it's often it's most hilarious. KillLaKIll was made by many member of the same team after they formed Trigger and it shows.
