Re: The Goggle Box!
To murder you for this, I would first have to know why this is any kind of offense. Not having watched anything Who-related in 20 years, I can hardly relate.
Of course, I'm sure I'll come up with enough alternate reasons to murder you three times over.

Tom Baker is not my favorite Doctor. My favorite is actually Sylvester McCoy. You may now all murder me.

There is a series called the Boondocks that I have been loving lately.
Made of win.Riley: "What's class"
Hughey: "it means he doesn't want us to act like niggas"
Grandad: "you won't be using the N-word in my house, boy!"
Hughey: "Grandad, you used the word nigga forty-six times yesterday. I counted"
Grandad: "Nigga hush!"

Re: The Goggle Box!
I love this show... the first season much more than the second season, however. I own the DVD box set, actually. My favorite episode? Where they explore what it would be like if Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. hadn't died... but simply been in a coma all this time, and on coming to expressed his disappointment. A close second is Samuel L. Jackson voicing a white boy doing his routine from Pulp Fiction about 'what'. "Say what again! I dare you! Say what again!"Asaryu wrote:There is a series called the Boondocks that I have been loving lately.

Whenever my pals and I eat something clearly unhealthy but delicious, we immitate Riley having taken a bite of the 'Luther' Hamburger.

Re: The Goggle Box!
What is it with the sudden rash of censorship on TV? I'm not talking about toning down the blood and violence and sex talk before the watershed, but more why is it that everyone show I watch late at night now sudden has the F*** word bleeped out?
I like my shows with the F word intact thankyou! Its not used excessively or just because the cast can say the word, but its dmned annoying that they feel that people who are going to be up watching TV after 11pm at night aren't going to be mature enough to handle the F word... Seriously... who is watching the show that late to complain about the swearing in them? This politically correct culture we're starting to live in is getting out of hand and ruining my favourite swears on TV.

We get that here only on national TV. Most TV programmes (in cable, obviously) in English or other languages don't get censored... but the subs change the words to something else
I LOVED the X-files, but the recent movie was disappointing.
I don't watch much TV, I usually just turn the TV on when I'm tired and hope to catch something I like. But when I can, I like/liked to watch House ( ), Pushing Daisies (too bad they cancelled it ) CSI Vegas. I've watched The Big Bang Theory and Heroes a couple of times and I really really liked it, but I'm in class when they show it and I haven't really looked for it online or anything.
When none are on, I watch Animal Planet and the History Channel
The only TV show I really follow right now is Alice. It's a Brazilian er... series? Maybe it's a soap opera, dunno, but I think it's way too realistic for that. And has way too much sex And it's not romantic at all. It's on late Sunday nights, so it's perfect cause I'm always home at the time

Um... Mine too. Which is odd, because I started watching with Tom Baker (as did most of America, since we didn't have the show here before then...) and typically the first Doctor you saw was your favorite. But Sylvester McCoy quickly became my favorite because he added back some of the mystery to the show which had been lost.Pneumonica wrote:Tom Baker is not my favorite Doctor. That's ok, I'm torn between Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant as my favorite Doctors. Eccleston was the first one I saw (over here in the US) for one season, but I love Tennant's quirkiness... It's a toss up for me

Re: The Goggle Box!
McCoy had the great balance of charm/whimsey and drama that Hartnell and Tom Baker had. The others always seemed to go too far one way or the other (or, in a couple of cases, they just strain under the role). I just happen to like McCoy's the best - I do slightly favor the dramatic aspects of the character. The first Doctor I saw was Pertwee, in Invasion of the Dinosaurs. I was a little kid back then, and I saw the dinosaurs in London and was .zgwortz wrote:Um... Mine too. Confession: I haven't watched TV in any regular way since I was 13. Thats a little over a decade of not watching TV...and then people say "oh, you know this guy from this show?"
"er...I'm pop-culturally illiterate"
"oh." then they turn to talk with someone else.

I'll talk with you.
I've basically never watched TV with any regularity.
Which makes me a complete doofus.

I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched a tv show. It's been a long time, I know that much. Going on years I would guess. Though I do go to the movies and play video games.

*high five!*
I will watch things on dvd, but only if someone bullies me into it.
I read books instead. Or play games. Or do uni work...
We have 2 tv's in our house, and one only gets used for my housemate to watch the news on SBS (international news with a leftist flavour) or when my housemate watches rage while he eats his breakfast. The other is for DVD's and for the X-Box.
