Tennessee River Valley here (actually the mountains that form the eastern edge of the Alabama part of "Valley") For summer we either get nothing for a weeks at a time (less than a half inch throughout all of June) , "popcorn" that will soak one end of your house while the other is bone dry or "WHY WON'T IT STOP?! I NEED TO MOW MY YARD!!!!" :p

Yup.

Well, it all melted during the day. But as I still have summer tires, I walked to my unemployment-project-center-thingy-place through the falling snow. Romantic, but also piss-cold. :P

When does summer end there? Cause according to calendars it was a few weeks ago. Mother Nature don't listen to no calendars though :P Ours is trying to go. It's been in the 80/high 20s the last few days.

I hope so too. The early reports from Mexico are that the damage was minimal as Hurricane Patricia landed in just the right spot not to actually do any major damage. However, it was at almost 200mph winds.

SP got lots of rain too but is alright and they are taking it with good humor!

"our local news station said "the rain is expected to stop at 10 am....on Sunday. If it is still continuing by then, please begin gathering animals in pairs and wait for further instructions" ;)) "

81 F (21 C) near the middle of December.

I'm so torn between being glad or not. I love warm weather. I want it to be like this all the time. At the same time, though, global warming and catastrophic global consequences.

Nothing like tornadoes the day after Christmas... :-\

I was just chilling at home, none the wiser, when my mom suddenly called saying "the sirens are going off, come over now". So I was scrambling around trying to put the animals away, and my husband was on a run and didn't have his phone with him, so that was terrifying...I was afraid I was going to have to drive around looking for him :-s Luckily he came back on his own since it had started raining. We went to my parents' house, since we're on the third floor, and huddled in the pantry for a while until it let up :p Other people I know weren't so lucky though, two of my friends' parents' houses were hit and there are 4 people confirmed dead so far in my city :(

Glad to hear you're safe! Tornadoes are scary, scary things. My great aunt lives in the area, I think. I hope she's all right :(

We've a blizzard warning from 5 pm tonight to 5 am on Monday. 8-14 inches of snow expected.

...And it's been in the 80s on the east coast. Weather, you're drunk.

EDIT: Randy Milholland tweeted this weather map image

It's a pretty big area getting this crazy weather.

Goodness, I'm glad you're okay! Not a fun day after Christmas, but I'm so happy that you're all right.

Flooding near my sister's, and we're getting snow, sleet, ice and rain today...in that order. The winds were up last night and it was not pleasant.
