I am not going to be surprise if you already know but apparently mermaids were actually manatee so I guess it depends on their actual size? But yeah, I like the idea that mermaids can be as unique as the creatures in the sea. All sizes, shapes, colors, and different fish-like properties in different places.

That might be one of the things I like about them. There is something majestic about whales already, and a merwhale seems to inherit that trait.

I doubt the mask would work any better for Deadpool than it did for Walter. They're both already completely unfettered.

I had heard about that theory, but I'm not sure how accurate it is since mermaids are known to peoples where manatees and their related species are unknown. Then again, humans can be very inventive :)

And I love the magesty that we see in these pictures. They can be so beautiful.

For the live of me I can't find the merwhale picture where it looks like a live photo of a giant looking human with sea critter features. There's one painting like the illustration above, too. Closest I can find is this. but it's not what I'm thinking of.
