It's amazing they got through at all. I wonder what they plan on doing now, if anything?

Jim Nabors passed away over the weekend at the age of 87. Nabors married his partner, Stan Cadwallader, of 38 years in 2013. Carol Burnett paid tribute to Nabors who opened all 11 years of her series and the US Marine Corps said "Semper Fi, Gomer Pyle. Rest in peace Jim Nabors, one of the few to ever be named an Honorary Marine."

Doug Jones elected. Yee-haw! According to the Huffington Post, he got a lot of his support from organised LGBTQ people and African-Americans. Nice. Maybe the last year has taught people they can't afford to sit elections out.

In other news...Disney buys FOX Entertainment. Disney now owns the original Star Wars movies, the X-Men, the distribution rights to the Fantastic Four, the Simpsons, and a whole lot of other stuff. Pending the rubber stamp approval, of course. Oh, and they now own 60% of Hulu.

Well, that sounds fun. Maybe they'll incorporate the X-Men and/or the Fantastic Four into the MCU. God knows we could afford to see good X-Men and FF movies before we all die.

In this neon black gloom I still see h[is] face
[H]e comes to me bringing darkest hour, I am forlorn
The pain is reborn

You are forever in my heart you never died
You are forever I still wonder where you are

I know you're dreaming, I know you're at peace
I'll meet you in the dreamtime
Whenever you call me I'll go under, I'll swim through you

You are forever in my heart you never died
You are forever I still wonder where you are
I know you're dreaming neon black

Rest in peace, Warrel Dane

Krom dammit. I'm getting really tired of watching Disney gobble up all our popculture mythologies And I really didn't want to see the xmen get shoved into the mcu. Hopefully they at least let New Mutants and Deadpool 2 get released without too much executive fuckery.

Mark my words, MGM is gonna fall next. The Maus wants the Wizard of Oz.

Bob Iger, head of Disney, has already stated that they aren't going to touch Deadpool's ratings or eff with the property to make it more family friendly. He's even stated that there really is a market for R-Rated super hero movies like Deadpool. It looks like he and Feige are taking an attitude of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' when it comes to X-Men and related properties.
