First of all welcome back Gisele. Second what happened at the party? I thought that there would be more than the giving of the drawing table. Oh, well looks like we're going slow for now.

Welcome back, Gis and Dave!
Did you have a good vacation?
What a way to start your day, huh?
I take French in school, but I only got the last line of that. Hahahahaha.
Excellent as usual.

Oooh! I loved all the french in this strip!
For others, the song is roughly translated as such:
"As long as love floods my mornings,
As long as my body quivers under your hands,
The problems don't concern me,
My love, since you love me."
Cute, n'est pas?

The song, in case anyone's curious, is "Hymne à l'amour," originally recorded and co-written by Édith Piaf in 1950.
Full French lyrics, English translation and YouTube clip of Piaf's performance here.

Re: 9-02-08 Crêpes françaises
I was able to pick out a few words then cheated and fed it through Babelfish and got the general gist of it.
Gary left his bite of breakfast en prise, and Zii took in en passant.
Now re-e-el her in…

Now taking bets on how long before Gary and Zii come to fisticuffs over DiDi's innocently-sexual attentions. Place yer bets, ladies 'n' gents...

Man, this comic is chock-fock of crêpes. (IMB111, quit beating me to the punch. )
Reading this strip gave me an, "Oh, fer the luv of..." reaction. Zii is really stopping to be cute now (actually, she stopped a while back, now it's getting especially bad).
(Note - not a complaint about the comic. Love the comic - there's no story without some kind of tension. Unless you're writing Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.)

There's plenty of tension in that novel: father vs. his former personality, father vs. son. Not that this is the best forum to discuss it. ;)Pneumonica wrote:Love the comic - there's no story without some kind of tension. Unless you're writing Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.)
Agree on Zii's behaviour no longer being "cute." Girl needs to learn some manners.
