yeah. Reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Meg becomes a lesbian. Her gay best friend says almost exactly that.

Citation please?

From a quick Google the consensus seems to be that sexual orientation is not a conscious choice for the vast majority of people.

Having attractions isn't a choice, but acting on them is.
Seeing as most folks have occasional attractions to either sex, the ones who choose to act on them are the ones who defy categories. If this happens to an average person and they act on it they have a choice of identifying themselves as gay or bisexual from then on or not changing their self identification at all. They have a further choice of acting on their desires, perhaps only once, perhaps for the rest of their lives. For some changing to a new "sexual identity" isn't desirable for whatever reason. For others, acting on their desires isn't what they want for whatever reason. The thing to remember is while preferences and desires are ingrown and natural, categories and identities are man-made.

The inner pirate in me refuses to let me pay for porn. And the fact that Sirkowski is a member of Slipshine basically settles the matter of deciding if I join Slipshine or not.

That pretty much covers it. Sexual attraction isn't as black and white as most people make out in that your straight, or your not. Theres the whole grey area of being Bi to consider. Most women who identify themselves as being lesbian are actually more likely to be bi, they've just chosen to abstain from men. Where-as men who identify as gay are 100% gay.

Of course, thats just putting it in black and white terms. I for instance am a 100% straight male, yet, I'm not afraid to admit if another guy is good looking in my opinion. That doesn't make me any less straight, it just shows I can see why some people would find him attractive.

Its also been shown that women will tend to go through a experimentation phase with other women, even if they are straight... where-as men will avoid this unless they are gay. Hence, scientific reasoning and coallation of the facts has shown that sexual orientation if far more of a choice for women then it is for men.

If I could find a specific page online with a good explaination of this I'd site it, but most of this material comes from the latest psychology papers.

Now hold on!
I didn't say that at all!
It's more similar for boys then you seem to believe.
My best friend, who is straight, had a period in college where he had sex with like 7 men over a 3 year period and later decided that he wanted to be strictly heterosexual; that's more partners then I, a bisexual, have had in my whole life. My boyfriend spent his youth seducing supposedly "straight" men including having a 4 year relationship with a guy that was still married to his wife. According to my boyfriend, many of those straight guys went back to there normal, "straight" lives as though little had happened.
The only thing I think that's different about men's and women's bisexuality is that sex is easy for men and men can have sex with little emotional attachment, where as women can sometimes find it easy to fall in love with whoever they sleep with.
