If she was Fifi, I'd have to wonder what her dog looked like.

Robin would never say "merciful mammaries."
He'd say "holy hooters, Batman!" and you know it.
Hi, guys. Finally got around to registering here.

Nah, he'd say "Jumpin Juggas, Batman!" Of course, that's Robin from the streets. Old school Robin would say mighty mangos or something.

She couldn't be Fifi, as she's French, and in French Fifi's short for Philippe, so a male name.
Actually, Henry, Dewie and Lewie are Riri (short for Henri), Fifi (short for Philippe) and Loulou (Short for Louis).
I know in English people associate "Fifi" with a French female dog, but that wouldn't work for people who actually speak French.
Personally, I'd picture an American mal duck
Gigi works for both genders, though. But I personally would think of my grandfather (Gilbert, reduced to Gigi).
Plus, Didi makes a lot more sense considering her full name.
Sorry for the lecture, I guess I'm taking that subject too seriously

Seconded. :mrgreen:Avistew wrote:Sorry for the lecture, I guess I'm taking that subject too seriously
And for the record, I'm from Louisiana. If you meet a French speaker from Louisiana named "Fifi", "Didi", "Lulu", or really anything else, you may still have to ask for a gender. And then a second question for the sex.
Further affiant sayeth not.

although not really relavent "Pippi Longstockkings" is called "Fifi Brindacier" in french, so there is prcedence for it being used for a female.

True, I think it's been turned more androginous, so a girl being called that is probably not that shocking, but... I get annoyed when it's always used as a female dog's name.Dave Zero1 wrote:although not really relavent "Pippi Longstockkings" is called "Fifi Brindacier" in french, so there is prcedence for it being used for a female.
But yeah, even Loulou kinda works for both now (even though I'd say it might come from Lulu being feminine, and both being pronounced about the same in English).
Also, isn't Pippi quite the tomboy? Not that it changes much, all things considered, I guess.
