So I just had to register to comment on this strip after 4 months of reading MA3.

Wow, as far as comebacks go, Yuki sure makes an eventful one. I always did wonder if Gary couldn't get her out of his head, and now we know. I suppose her being one of the few girls to affectionately give him a bit of a feel may have something to do with it

Now as for Dillon - weeeell, I have to join in with the voices saying that there's so much ulterior motive to go around there that it's painful. I wonder how long it will take poor Gary to snap out of his fantasy world...

Haven't commented in a while, and this kind of behavior is why.

Jeezum Croze, Gary really is thick as a whole stack of bricks. Instead of pursuing a REAL woman, he allows Dillon (an untrustworthy trickster, last seen giving Gary a morning poke) to lead him down the fantasy trail. Has any male in the whole history of comics ever done more to undermine his own masculine self-respect? Taking romantic advice/lessons from Dillon is like taking social tips from Curly Howard. This is like one of those Bugs Bunny cartoons where Bugs leads Elmer over a cliff by dressing up in drag. It's funny, in a way, but my main feeling is the desire to kick Gary in the ass for being such a godawful idiot. He gave indications of being a real person months ago when he opened up to Zii (who I still think he can have a chance with), but ever since then he has behaved like a mentally defective 14-year old. Gary's sexual/romantic problems are HIS OWN FAULT, and unless and until he wakes up to that fact and DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT, he'll continue to keep Kleenex in business.

That's not to say that this strip isn't funny and well-drawn, of course. "Amber Amber" really is an archetypal porn-star name, and from what we can tell about her she's the kind of porn star Gary would love: the sweet, helpless-girl-next-door-with-a-dirty-side, just longing for an understanding nerd (or batcrazy Japanese girl) to give her happiness.

Speaking of Yuki...Gary, I hate to tell you this, but seriously hot lesbians who HATE MEN are not likely to find a dishrag like you very interesting.
