If DiDi wanted to recommend ballerina, she would've said ballerine....

I stand my point : perhaps the author wanted to give it that particular meaning (strippers), but the right term in french would have been "strip-teaseuse".

Some people seem to be forgetting that Giz is a native French speaker with it as her first language, so she knows exactly what it means and so doesn't need to be corrected as she's right

Trust me. When someone in Montreal talks about "les danseuses", they mean stripteaser. For example, "aller aux danseuses" (go to the dancers) leaves no ambiguity about the intended activity (going to a strip club in case you'd wonder). Technically, the term should probably be "danseuses nues" (naked dancers), but the last part is almost always implied, especially when "danseuses" is used in its plural form, unless the conversation was already about classical dance for some reason. I know it's slang, and Montreal slang at that, but that's where the Menage a 3 comic is set, so I'm quite sure I'm getting it right.
