Yeah but look at the beginning, she dosent seem very interested in DiDi at that time...

one thing I just thought of is, Zii claims to be a musician, and there are rumors that that's how she makes money, yet we've only seen her "play" the guitar once so far, and that looked more like tuning it than actually playing something.

Has anyone noticed that in a sense, Didi is possibly the most fleshed-out character so far? Athlete, hardcore horror film buff, avid gamer, glamazon -- she's a geek's wet dream, a Jeanne-of-all-trades who is probably only being held back by her poor command of English. Zii is more in the center of the plot, but her background is a mystery and her personality is pretty much 80% sex, 20% schmooze. Gary... is just this wimpy guy with a 50s greaser haircut.

It's an interesting narrative angle -- how often is the background character the most interesting? (But then, isn't that the point with Didi -- that her body is so distracting that no one really can notice anything else?)

I find it a little odd how many people dislike Dillon. I think he's more of an oversexed 'den mother' than a manipulator. To his benefit, this means that he's protective of his friends, but on the bad side, it means he sometimes keeps them from growing... this explains why Gary is somewhat sheltered, and why he's likely to blossom quickly with less Dillon in his life.

I have my suspicions that Zii was in a band and ruined it for herself right as they were hitting it big. Perhaps that failed MMF of hers was with her bandmates? She probably has a nice little nest egg, but is too bummed to actually get a job or join another band yet.

No..actually, it's getting sexually aroused by a normally non-sexual object...like shoes, nylons, feet. Usually a person with a real 'fetish' cannot get sexually aroused unless that object is around or s/he is in direct contact with said object.

About Zii, it´s seems that she swings both ways from what we´ve seen from both her reactions of DiDi´s Gazangas and her little flashback about that Menage a 3 in which she broke the 2 straight guys/1 chick rule.

She just a genuine fan of pretty much anything related to sex, especially concerning porn.

I really adore Zii. While I would be be thrilled to see more of DiDi, Zii really floats my boat. It's not her physique, but her personlity.

For those coming in late, Giz confirmed on the ask questions board that Zii is bisexual. It's an odd kind of bi, though; her interest in guys seems to be pretty narrowly channeled into her guy/guy or guy/girl/guy obsessions. At the moment, at least, that's a side interest; as far as the pursuit of real sex goes (as opposed to fantasy) Zii seems to be pretty DiDi-centric.

It's interesting to see in these last few strips that DiDi has said some things that annoy Zii. Zii may need to learn that her
Amazon is NOT perfect...which Zii should be able to guess already, seeing that DiDi's responses to her have been so naive and/or ambiguous.

I'm sort of a Gary. And I know a Zii, and I used to know someone who's a bit like Didi. I love all of these characters!

Zii is hiding something, of course, but we still love her. We can't help it.

Didi comes across positively virtuous somehow, and I love her because she's so warm-hearted.

As for Gary... oh, man. I can't go easy on you, my friend. You need to grow up, fast. All of this female energy is bouncing off the walls around you... you have to stand up and meet it head-on, for your own good as well as theirs. Zii will continue acting out and Didi will never mature either as long as you keep being a wuss. I'm not saying you should sleep with either of them (or both, despite the name of the strip), but you have to stand up for yourself, at some point! Be a man, Gary! Be a man!

I don't know if Gary was designed to be the generic geek so lots of geeks would see a bit of themselves in him and connect with the character but all I have to say is....

HOLY DOPPLEGANGER!!!! Thats ME!!! Gary is.... ME at about 17 to 18 years old, right down to the build, the hair, the glasses, the clothes, the too-nice-for-his-own-good attitude, the blind naivety about girls, etc.... only major differences are my flatmates were never that good looking (I'm talking about both the guys and the girls there) and I can't draw to save my life. I just want to sit him down, give him a beer and say... "Look lad, I was where you are about 15 years ago, its not bad but its not great either, now here's a wee bit of free advice... learn how to play the hand you've been dealt. EVERYONE gets a couple of good cards but you've got to know how and when to play them. Get yer pad and pencil out lad, you may want to take notes and there WILL be diagrams! If I can't show you the where and the how, the next best thing is to draw yer a map." ;-)

So I will admit I cringe at what Gary does sometimes, thinking I was like that, but damn its got me rooting for him and made me a fan! Everyone love an underdog, right? ;-) I WOULD say that though... I AM Scottish afterall ;-)

Zii rocks, she's almost a mix of 2 girls I know (Nic and Angell) but with her amp turned up to 11 ;-)

Love the strip and I can't wait to see more of the strange neighbour, I think there's great potential for laughs there.... "Is Reagan still president?" LOL

Dillon is the kind of guy who intervenes at the perfect time, but shit man...Zii is just crazy. If I had to pick the best male character it's Dillion, Female character Zii.

And Junghan's an ass, I hope he gets a black eye.

I think it'll be cute to see Zii and Gary get together cuz she's oversexed and he's a virgin

I have something to say about the recent bro-ha-ha in the "glunk glunk glunk" thread, but I'm posting it here, so as that I won't enrage the mods.

From what I've read, the big complaint is essentially the realism and the lack of character growth shown by the three main characters. I think there's merit, in that it would be nigh impossible for the characters to stay the same without it eventually becoming stale, and, in this wierd mix of Real World / Tom & Jerry world they're in, some of the character's actions, like Gary's grabbing of the boobage, is very morally grey.

This was answered by Giz, in a sense, saying that she and Dave are going for something completely different then her last comic, which, while I haven't read, I assume is more realistic and focuses more on character development then chuckles. So, it sounds like it's a choice between realistic chracters and zany shenanegans.

Which I would ask, in the words of a flawed but lovable character in Marvel Studio's first and last good film--is it too much to ask for both?

I'm not saying this to insult either of you two--hell, I'm saying that, from what I've seen, I'm almost absolutely certain you two can pull it off.

All I'm saying is that the troll might have a little bit of a point to him, though he said it in a trollish matter--and I trust you two have the potential to make an amazing web-comic.
